    Castration Question

Welcome Bopeep. how did you deal with the testicles? How old were these calves? Sheep?? The covering of the testicles (tunica) can fill with blood and that sac may protrude through the wound. Freeing the tunica away from the testicles and then wrapping the cord around your finger and pulling...

    Ear infection or obstruction?

More often than not an ear infection starts off with some foreign body or chemical causing the irritation and the bacteria come along secondary to an already inflamed ear, especially in one ear of one cow in a herd. Always good if you can get a foreign body out. Ken

    Minerals

Suzanne, there would be a lot of resistance by manufactures to increase the selenium level as they have no control over who or where it is used and selenium toxicity could easily occur. Ken

    Minerals

I wouldn't call Mg a trace mineral. It would be in the same category as P, calcium, sodium etc. Ken

    Cow cleaning off / triplets

You are correct Jeanne except I think the good and the bad bugs are all the same bugs. If the membrane does not separate physiologically shortly after birth then it needs time for the decaying process involving bugs to work so any antibiotics are counter productive. Ken

    Mineral tubs

That is probably the case with the basic plant nutrients like phosphorous however I don't think it is practical or works with the trace minerals. Ken

    Cattle warts

I don't know what a Troll is actually, maybe I am one but I see you joined CT just before your first post so maybe you were trolling the internet looking for opportunities. I don't know whether I'm on speaking terms with the moderator. I think you are just making assumptions about the copper in...

    Cattle warts

Well Ralphie this is FSA here, if you go back to your first post and read it there was no mention of genital warts there, only warts on the neck. It was in a subsequent post you mentioned the genital warts so I think it is a reasonable question to ask where do you put the wire with penile warts...

    Sizing up the bull

We have a black vinyl product called polybelt that I have had in my alley way for over 16 years now and it has held up well. It is stiff enough to stop anything putting its foot through. It was pretty cheap too. https://www.polybelt.com.au/yards.html Ken
