    Electric pressure cooker

Wife bought one for her and one for my mom. It's about all she uses now. Awesome to make meat for tacos. But roast was almost too friable. Had to stab at it several times to get enough on my plate for a meal. Once it's corraled, it's pretty good stuff.

I like a good homemade burrito, but i'm not a fan of charizo eggs. If we're going with restaraunt made, the burrito made with stew meat from this joint is a pretty good way to start the day. http://www.jumburrito.com/authentic-mex ... x-mex.html

    Saddle Bread

Funny, only job i remember applying for and not getting an offer to work was at a couple restaurants in college. Self sufficency is probably illegal and dangerous. If untaxed liquor can make you go blind, what do you think a whole pantry full of untaxed stuff could do?

    Saddle Bread

Jo, where did you learn to cook? I'm sure you've created a lot of stuff by trial and taste, but you have so many good ideas, just curious how you got started. Wish I would of started paying attention sooner. I'd give a weeks wages to be able to reproduce grandma's Sunday fried chicken.

Those shrimp look awesome. Down to the last of the fried turkey tonight- Brined it overnight, then Italian seasoning, parmesean cheese, flower breading. Two birds can make a lot of nuggets! Wished my phone wouldn't of been dead and I could of got a picture- that plate was stacked probably...

    What are you eating today?

Didn't get a picture, but man I put a hurting on a seafood platter at Papadeax's in Houston. It might of been breaded boot leather, but after only eating one real meal in 5 days, and that being 2 days previous, it tasted rather devine to me. Anyone have any suggestions of good hole in the...

Making do with what you have

Post any empty cupboard concoction or making do with what you have creations. Pulled out some tomato slices drenched them in balsamic vinegar and cracked pepper, took some garlic seasoned croutons and melted shredded cheese over them, then stuck a few on each tomato slice. Looked over and...

jo- What do you think about this one ?

That sure makes sense, hadn't thought out the amount of fuel for the duration of time it would take. I was thinking it could be set and wouldn't have to be babysat as much.

jo- What do you think about this one ?

How would a propane heat source work with that kind of design, where soaked wood was used for smoke but not the heat source? I was thinking that as far as consistency, it might really do the trick. What's the down side?

    Charcoal Question

Is charcoal preference because of the flavoring of the smoke or is it about heat? I was looking at an old charcoal smoker made of 20 inch discs welded to a heavy steal barrel. My understanding is that the heavy metal is better for heat control, so this set up looks like a good place to start...

Made brisket corn soft tacos with a concocted sour cream sauce- I chopped up some home grown jalapenos and cilantro, then added some lime juice and blended it all up in a little bit of sour cream. I've got to make this sauce as again, it provided a great flavor with an even warmness. I...

    What are you eating today?

I definitely couldn't compete on this board, and this definitely lacks for presentation (people were hungry) but I didn't do too bad tonight. Went with a pan sear on the marinated steak, seared for about 45 seconds to a minute, covered in cracked pepper and kosher salt, roasted for about 6...
