    bang on the money for the calves some of my cows liked to make.. 140 lb bull calves I think those cows would look at this "litter" of calves and be pretty confused about what to do.. Usually I just have one big one.. but what are all these tiny things??

    I don't know if it's the same calf, but there was one born a few weeks ago and last I heard it was a week old, trying to stand but not quite.. they said it had some fight in it so as long as it was they were going to keep trying

    I've had some cows "hum" for a long time before calving.. never been a sign of a problem for me.. they're usually good mommas

    I think it's a good idea.. just one more tool in the toolbox That said, when we first started out and bought our first group of 12 heifers, they were all measured, and that year was an absolute disaster with calving.     She's been a super momma, very attentive, really takes good care of the little boy. he was bouncing around and trying to run today

    Fresh baby, her first one. Great momma, had a leg backward so had to straighten that out but she took to licking right away
