    Disc mower height adjustment?

Thanks everyone, really appreciate learning from your experience. I did find the online user manual, one day I’ll read a manual first. (Not). High skid shoes are on the shopping list. The manual also refers to a “compensating spring” to increase/decrease down pressure of the cutter bar...

    Disc mower height adjustment?

Hi everyone. I picked up a used disc mower, JD 275, and have a few questions as I’ve never used one before. I took it for a real quick test run, which seemed mostly successful, but I’m a few areas in soft sandy soil, it really dug in more than I’d like. Not to mention the gophers have really...

    Baler requirements

Don’t have the rake or mower yet either, but from what I’ve seen there are plenty of options that would work for the mentioned tractor. Guess I’m just concerned more about the baler and if that tractor would be sufficient.

    Baler requirements

Hi everyone. I’m researching baler requirements and thought I’d get some expert opinions here as well. I’d like to add a baler to the farm, nothing special or that will be heavily used (maybe 40 acres or so twice a year). With a JD 5075 tractor, HP rated 57 (43)@2100 PTO... is that sufficient...

    Weed ID?

Thanks all for the replies. Maybe I’m just not patient enough and it’ll die. Seems like the Grazon has a pretty noticeable impact on day 3, but don’t see any dead ones yet. I might hit them again. And fence, you’re correct in that these things whatever the heck they come up crazy fast, so I...

    Weed ID?

Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone has an idea of what this is and how to kill it? I sprayed with GrazonPD last week, and don’t see that it had much of an impact, even on the smaller weeds. Looks like the mesquite I hit had much better results, but these things look like they’re bouncing back...

    Fertilizer recomendation?

Hello all. I've had such great help and tips from this site - I thought I'd ask what folks use to fertilize their pastures - and when. I'm in Goliad County, TX - with roughly 50 acres of pasture. It's not well maintained, but I plan on changing that. There's some coastal on it mixed with a...

    Grazon Ratio Question

I'm a little confused about how much Grazon to use in my sprayer. I'd like to add some to a 30 gallon sprayer pulled behind a 4 wheeler. It has a small 5 foot boom with three nozzles. (from tractor supply). Assumming I'm pulling at 3 mph - how much Grazon should I add to the 30 gallons of...

    Pull behind spreader?

I was thinking 4 wheeler because I saw some pull behind 175 pound capacity spreaders out there, which I thought at ~10 lbs seed per acre would be sufficient. Also the cost of the spreader and ease of use made me think this might be a good way to go. But I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

    Pull behind spreader?

Hello, I have roughly 15 acres I'd like to spread some bermuda seed on this Spring - and another 30 acres next year if this goes well. I've disc'd the area and am looking for a good spreader to pull behind a 4 wheeler. Any advice? Also, once I've spread the seed, what's the best way to get it...

    Boom Sprayer Question

I have about 100 acres that is in need of several years application of herbacide to reduce brush and weeds. My question is if using a 20' boom sprayer on the 3 point hitch pulled behind a tractor - at normal rates of speed and pressure, how long would a 200 gallon tank last before needing to...
