    guessing the age

I agree with Dun, great looking Brahman heifer she should do well for ya in the show ring. That age is hard to tell on Brangus but as mention wait at least a year for breeding them.

Using Brahman Bulls to upgrade your herd

I suggest make sure you're very selective on your Brahman bull. Look for the lower birth weight bull as it pertains to what you're trying to do. I've seen some of the more popular Brahman breeders they can tell if the bull you're purchasing will be suitable for none brahman influence cattle...

Using Brahman Bulls to upgrade your herd

I think a Brahman should be in every herd around the world, but we all know that would not work. With that being said, given the breeds you mentioned I don't know if that would be the best choice. Have you thought about Brangus or Beefmaster? Now I too have the same idea to just buy some cows...

    Ranch Ideas in California

Are you looking to lease land or purchase? Have you tried looking at Big Bear or Fresno area? Not sure how things work out that way. I have relatives living in LA and Hollywood and when I visit and mention farming they mention these areas.

    Overseeding bermuda

I've tried it the way you're mentioning and it worked ok for me. I used something call hull turf seeds though. I now have a little more insight don't know that I would try it that way again.

    Why Brahman?

I too have the addiction and the Brahman has entered my blood!! Have you ever heard one moo???!?!?! They don't moo they talk lol!! I wish I could afford to by a few right now. I often pass by Horse Gate Ranch just to see them out in the pasture. I will call and visit near by ranches just to see...

    Why Brahman?

Also V8 is having an internet sale as well. You can view the bulls on DVauctions and you'll see the Docile score on those bulls.. Both sale have some having pricing on the bulls starting at 4000, If I could I would buy without a doubt.

    Why Brahman?

As mentioned they are great mothers. You don't often hear of the mothers having difficulty giving birth. I love them they can be very gentle when handle properly. The ABBA recently put the docility rating in the EPD's 1 to 5. 1 being very gentle. JD Hudgins is doing a Traditional sale now on...

    Customer Issue

Also considering the fact he has some Brahman in him he may have matured sexually later than say other breeds. That could have caused a delay in him breeding the heifers. Now he's of age so he should be breeding at this point. I hope it works out for you.

Beefmaster question on color and dispostion

Sorry I looked at the wrong bull. You mentioned 4290, and I referenced the bull above 0192 he had a mottled face also. But 4290 is a one heck of a bull!! And I like his mottled face, I wouldn't be afraid to use him at all.

Beefmaster question on color and dispostion

Mottlefaceman413, Thanks for telling about that Big Country title, I honestly never knew about it. I watched that whole video saw a few I really like. I also saw what you mentioned about the nervous ones. That 4290 bull is really nice bull, but the one listed under him I would take in a heart...

Beefmaster question on color and dispostion

I can't connect the deposition of the Beefmasters to its Red color, but I've been watching a few sales and it seems a lot of folks are trying to breed for the Red and Black cattle. Now at one point the paints were frowned up on, but they're coming around. Some of the popular bulls are Red in...

A Few of this Years Bulls

All are impressive bulls to me. I like 5,3 and 1 best but I'd be proud to have either. 5 gives me a Brangus feel to him.

    Calving ease/Birthweight

Thanks for answering my question I do appreciate it. You gave me some things to go on. I remember wanting to breed them soon as possible just because I wanted to see what the calf would be like, I've grown wiser since then lol!! Sorry to hijack the thread.

    Calving ease/Birthweight

I thought I posted this on here, but don't see it so forgive me if it show up twice. When I was growing up we never really paid any attention to the bulls calving ease epd. I was told to breed to an Angus bull for first time heifers, but my family did not like Angus so we used our polled...
