Warmer here in Iowa as well. I've been calving since February. My stress level is so much lower now that it has warmed up. I think next year I'll start my main herd the 1st of March.

I have a fall herd as well. Yes I love it. Moving the calving date later will give me lighter calves in the fall however I'll just plan on market them a month or so later so hopefully I won't lose much on the selling weight.

There is on Aug. calf. 800 would be high I would admit but look at the Market report for 3-400 lb. steers.
