Wow! It has been so bad the last couple of days you can't walk across the room without it lighting up your eyeballs. Anyone else having a problem with it?

Can anyone tell me how much salt to put in homemade butter to preserve it? I should know but can not remember the amount of salt to the pound of butter. Well to answer my own question I found out today 3 teaspoons per pound. :D

Wife and I just purchased 8 pairs of limmie and herford crosses from an elderly neighbor. He is getting out of the business due to his age. All are 4 and 6 years of age with calves between 1 and 2 months of age. Wish I could post a picture but dialup is too slow.

Almost lost a 2 1/2 month calf under a bale of hay. Rode cattle and was missing a calf. Checked the whole place no calf. Went back to the hay feeding area and noticed a bale turned on end. Walked over and moved the hay ring and pushed it back up straight. The calf was underneath in the hole...

Have Six dogs One Blackmouth cur, Two Cur and Yellow lab mixes, One Black and Tan Fiest, One Sharpae (sp?) and lab mix, and Last but not least a Black Shepard and 3/16 wolf mix. The joke around the house is that we buy dog food by the ton and cow feed by the sack. :lol: :lol:

A thought awhile back that now appears to be the truth.Tainted dog food found its way into hog feed and now a certain number have already been slaughtered and released to the public for comsumption. Our good friends in China (NOT)

Has any one considered how easy China sent a tainted supply of a some what food item into the states?

Been here since the 26th of Aug. and had one cow skip the country on us. Looked everywhere and she finally surfaced at neighbors farm about 2 miles away. We go pick her up at 9 o-clock tomorrow morning no one has seen her 5 month old calf. I am proud to get her back though.
