    Got a 5 week old calf - was healthy until this morning. Struggling with back legs buckling under her. Vet thinks she might have got kicked. Anyone else ever have this happen?

    Companion Bulls

    Has anyone had experience running two bulls together in a herd; separating them with one bull in two different herds for six months; then bringing them back together in one herd? We are losing some rented pasture and will be putting some cows together to make one larger herd for spring calves...

    Can't believe this happened

    We talked to our vet today. She encouraged us to supplement her with grain as she is growing herself and lactating as well. If we want to work her back into the herd, that's what she said to do. We will probably keep her a few months and see how things go, and then sell her and the calf. But...

    Actually she was one of the smaller ones. She weighs roughly 650 lbs right now I'd guess.

    We had an Angus heifer born 3/10/20 that we weaned 10/7/20. We run our bulls from late May to late November with our fall herd and the other six months with our spring herd. She had spent the winter on rented pasture without any bull in the pasture. When we got her and her herd mates moved...

    Bull throws 75% female calves

    Our registered Angus bull has thrown 75% female calves the last two calving seasons. Is this something I should be concerned about. The bull is about 5 years old.
