Whats in the tank for this springs breeding?

They are hopefully gonna start a foundation for the direction I wanna go with my herd. We have a lot of fescue grass in my area and most breeders around me aren’t breeding angus cows for our environment( there’s a lot of show stock breeders by me PVF, Dameron etc etc). I’m a firm believer...

    Bull Herding Cows

I was checking some cows last night and I noticed how my bull was keeping them in a group and would not let one stray off. I thought it was interesting behavior and was wondering why some bulls do that.

    Embryo Transfer for Newbies

I just picked up 4 conventional OCC Juneau x Donna embryos from Coleman. I have never done any ET work in my herd. I have a good embryologist a few miles from me so I figured I’d take a leap of faith. Any tips for a beginner? What are the most important factors that you think effect...

    First ET calves.

I’m working on getting some embryos to put in this year. I hope I’m in your position next year.

    Bull pen

If you are going this route on a lot do yourself a favor and put a strand of barbed wire on the inside of the woven wire, it’ll save your fence from those pesky animals that enjoy scratching their butt on it.

    Cattle Book

Wow. What about "Wortham Lectures in Animal Science". It appears too be much cheaper, but how does the information in this book stack up too "Man Must Measure"?

    Cattle Book

It looks too me that “Man Must Measure” by Dr Bonsma is the book I am referring too. Google didn’t bring up any sites to buy it from. Does anyone have an ideas where I can pick up a copy?

    Cattle Book

I have been trying to find a book that has been mentioned here quite a few times but I can’t for the life of me remember the author or title. From what I understand it was written by an old guy that correlated physical appearance of cattle to fertility and other traits. I think he was a grass...

    Coleman Regis

How were the frames on them? My only concern is it looks like Regis really brings down the frame.

    Coleman Regis

Thinking about buying embryos out of a Donna cow flushed with Regis. Does anyone have any experience with Regis daughters or sons?

Bull Developing a Roached Up Back.

I can get some videos of him moving later when the ground is not so hard. I think he moves well, his rear legs track well in relation to the tracks left by his front legs, he doesn’t appear to be choppy. Having said that I haven’t evaluated nearly as many cattle as some of you. My neighbor...

Bull Developing a Roached Up Back.

I may be looking to hard but it appears my 2 year old bull is developing a roached up back in the last 1/3 of his top line. I started to notice it a few months ago after he injured his front shoulder and I have to treat him for a fairly large abscess on it. He lost quite a bit of body...

    Spring Breeding, What's Everyone Using?

I saw the thread for fall breeding, but I can't be the only one that is starting too narrow down my semen selection and AI protocol for spring. As of right now I am considering using these bulls: SAV Bruiser (already have in tank, love the Circle A Alliance data, semen used to be cheap but I...

Angus Sire too Add Bone Structure.

I gotta few cows that could use some more bone structure, some off their weaned calves have what I call pencil legs and I don’t wanna go every far down that road. I’m shooting for a sire with around average ced, no negative birth weight, 20s in milk and not a crazy low $E.

Fall Breeding What is everyone using..

I’m using a Rainfall son as a herd bull. Does that count?

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

That might be the best bet as I already have Bruiser in the tank.

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

I have a cow that has too much frame for me and could use more efficiency, she makes great freezer beef steers. I was wondering if there were any sires out there too reduce frame size and add a little efficiency, as I don’t wanna keep any females out of her if they are gonna carry on these less...

    Deer Valley Unique

I'm interested in using this bull. I assume you have calves on the ground from him, how do you like his calves? Do you have any breeding age females out of him?

End post/brace strength for wire options

My guess would be the woven wire because not only do the braces support the tension but they also support the weight of the fence.
