I had a old tractor tire laying around close to a hay ring and just decided to put it flat on the ground inside the ring and put the hay on top. Seems like the cattle may clean up the hay a little better. Anyone else ever try this?

My dad always wants to put a few turnip seed in with the grass seed. Might have over done it this time. 2 lbs on 15 acres. Every seed must have come up.

The hay ring on the left is good Bermuda grass hay.The one they are attacking is ryegrass/crimson clover silage. They will eat every straw of the silage, no waste at all. Also using it as creep feed for calves. Still new to the hay silage and invite comments from other users.

Got about 90 rolls done so far. Cut about 50 more today and should start baling and wrapping about 10am tomorrow. (If it doesn't rain)
