    Young bull

He's 18 months. Very little feed. Out of a home raised cow here. Not really what I like but he is going to have to be clean up bull here for awhile.

    10 acres of weeds.

I will get pictures. I mowed and baled part of it and clover is coming back good. That's reason for not tilling it up. I guess I can. I was looking for alternative options I guess.

    10 acres of weeds.

    Drum mower

I bought a Zetor 165 last yr. Trouble free, mowed fast, way cheaper than disc mower. I have seen older 4 drum mowers but haven't looked recently for new 4 drum. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one and I do NOT Tedder anything. But my hay isn't very good. Haven't had a problem with curing.

WalnutCrest, I would assume u would not use the bull for simple fact u have found what works for u. I think he is similar type as yours. As for cost it would vary between management on the cost of 60 lbs. And shows don't pay bills as u stated. We all look at things differently. F1...

So u can have a calf ready by thanksgiving on grass. What weight if u don't mind me asking, and are u saying weaned fall calf here or spring calf? And u are right no one uses old hereford semen. I raise what I want. No daddy's money here. I think the skinny a $$ed Angus black things look...

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=77568&start=15 Would u use this bull?

That probably is different between your operation and mine. How much corn do u buy to feed? That is a cost rather u raise corn or buy it. I would rather have a 5 frame ideally but not everyone is the same.

While I admit I have a few lighter heifers that are 1000 lbs I also have several in the 1200 lb so 600 lb. And I think we both know that not every cow or calf is the same. That's why their are different breeds, different colors and different types. U chase your dreams and I will chase mine

I agree on some things. I really think some of the old bulls were really good and could still be useful today. As for toads take that however u want. I would rather have a frame 4 cow that produces over 50% weaning weight calf than a frame 7 that weans a 35% calf. Lbs are lbs. But before u...
