Had a calf the other day with an open gut, born that way. Lucky to catch right away. Vet sewed back up but wasn't real optimistic. Anybody any experience w this? Still alive 36 hours later, but still not out of woods for sure. Just curious if anybody has saved one when born this way. Thanks!

I'm sure this has been discussed here before... w a lot of purebred breeders starting to say there is no need to buy anything but a calve ease bull bc even the calves ease bulls have the growth as the low calve easers. Question is, are you still giving something up in hip shape or size...

We have never cut corn for feeding purposes but am wondering in general if you like the results you get from that as opposed to hay of good quality. Corn is cheap right now but price aside, if you have it, is it worth it? Also, straight silage okay or is it generally mixed or ground w hay...

Got some hay that we had trouble getting up early in season... Wondering if anybody has injected bales to try and salvage some feed quality? Cattle go after it? This hay is prob the equivalent of straw if I had to guess. Just looking for thoughts or experience. Thanks
