    You guys injecting calves too?

We will use Ivomec plus injectable this year before we turn our cows out to pasture. My question is, are you guys injecting your calves too or just the cows?

    Cougar

There are getting to be more and more cougar sightings here (ND) too. I haven't heard of any cattle trouble, but there have been several attacks on horses the last few years. Some nasty gashes in the hind quarters and neck area. I don't think any horses have died tho. The Game and Fish Dept...

    injectable or pour on wormer?

I think Ivomec pour on may help with immature flukes but you really need an injectable like Ivomec Plus to control them. Dang I sound like a drug rep!

Why would anyone be against banding?

Guess I'll put my .02 in. We started banding about 7 yrs ago. We do it young, at least 24 hrs old. Haven't had a single problem with it. It's just so much quicker and easier than cutting. We may or may not lose a few pounds at sale time but it's worth it to us. The biggest draw back is not...

    Simco

I have an older Simco. By far the best saddle Ive ever had, it's heavy but comfortable and never worry about it when ropin. The newer simco's just don't look as good to me for some reason.

    injectable or pour on wormer?

I'm not 100% sure on Ivomec but a pfizer rep told me that injectable dectomax gets up to 3 times more in the bloodstream, better for internal worms where as the pour on is better for lice. We inject in the spring and pour in the fall.

    Renting pasture

I would imagine that this varies greatly from region to region, but what does everyone pay to rent good grass pasture? Specifically per cow/calf pair and per acre, also what are the terms such as who provides fenceing supplies etc. Thanks.
