New Holland U-Joint - Buy Ford

The first one was only replaced because I dropped pins taking out the shaft. No grease fittings on it either. Could have been original for all I know, but was still in good shape. I'm hoping it will outlast the machine..... F./

New Holland U-Joint - Buy Ford

I couldn't believe the price of a New Holland U-joint for my 488 Haybine. Close to $50.... Knowing they are owned by Ford, I went to CarQuest and gave them the New Holland Part Number, but asked them to treat it like a Ford. They didn't believe it could possibly work, but up came the Ford...

    Vermeer 504I Baler Slip Clutch

Hello, all. Wondering if anyone has experience with a Vermeer Slip Clutch? My 504I is chewing the keyways out of cross drive shafts ($175 for a new shaft) and rounding out the PTO tubes ($80) that allows the PTO to stretch up to the tractor. Seems to me the Slip Clutch should be preventing...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

We lost power for 5 days up this way, so I couldn't get at the tractor as was planned... Trucking water to the cows and keeping generators running... We are using CarQuest's batteries, most of the time. I might have to make a new mount, but when this one dies, I am going to Delco as per...

The farm is in Marmora, Ontario, Canada. This link shows some of the 290 acres we have there...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Pretty bad when you have to think about it - We have 5 running tractors, several for parts... There are a few that we are putting batteries in every other year or maybe more often than that. This White 1470 is one of them.... I don't know what a maintainer is. I am not entirely sure this...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

I just took it out as I didn't think the tractor had such a thing. I thought the charging would occur solely from the black wire from the alternator terminal with the nut being connected to the starter (and battery). F./

It helps a lot, thank you. And thankyou too, agmantoo. I am printing all this out and taking it to the farm on the weekend. Wish me luck! Frank

    HAIR LOSS

Just following up on these. The lice treatment seems to have done the trick. All the lost hair came back. Our Limo heard looses hair in the winter, but nothing like these guys. Everyone is healthy now ! Thanks.

Ear Growth / Ear falling off !

Vet said to provoke antibodies by cutting the wart. I figured that if the ear falling off didn't provoke an action nothing would. To make a long story short, it's all gone ! So is the ear, but we are just happy Moma Onyx is healthy again. We were really worried for her. Thanks everyone. Frank

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Thanks, agmantoo. That looks similar, eh. I don't understand how it works, but if my alternator is the same (and that white connection is not an idiot light as discussed above), I would simply take the yellow and red wire as per below and attach it to the other side of the regulator...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Lavacarancher, Thanks for the response. I had replied last night, but it doesn't seem to have made it. It is definite that the green wire that goes from terminal 67 on the alternator to terminal 67 on the regulator. These numbers appear on the schematic and are stamped into each piece of...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Thank you, agmantoo. That is an interesting suggestion and it is going into my files for future consideration. I have a problem with drain on infrequently used tractor batteries and find that I am killing them way more often than I should. I guess you would have to have a secondary place to...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Well that is impressive. You replied before I could even get the post working. Thank you, Kingfisher. The starter and alternator have both been off and been returned after being rebuilt. A backyard mechanic has since been in there trying to put things together. Then there is me trying to...

Charging System on White Tractor - Diagram attached

Hello everyone. I have a White tractor with Fiat motor and electronics. It has a two connection voltage regulator and I don't really understand how it all works. I need to start, because the mechanic bills are killing me. I found a 1976 Fiat Spider wiring diagram that seems to represent...

Ear Growth / Ear falling off !

Hello, Ken. Thanks for the response. The twine is just around her horn, it had been there since last fall and were reasonably sure it has nothing to do with it. Tried to get better pictures, but she doesn't want to sit still. The ear came off today. We will try to get her secured and some...

Ear Growth / Ear falling off !

Hello everyone, I would really appreciate some help. We are a long way from a vet and none are available on the long weekend here in Canada. We are really concerned about a problem one of our cows has developed. Her ear is held on by about a 1/4 inch and there are growths in both ears...

    HAIR LOSS

Thank you for the quick response. Maybe we`ll treat for lice one more time. There is no real hair loss in the warm spots, so I thought it might not be lice. We treated about a week ago anyway. It kind of crusts up though. Made me think it could be something more. Looks like hell, but...

    HAIR LOSS

Hello, all. I've spent quite a bit of time reading about hair loss in cattle and all it's causes. I did a lot of reading on this forum and I can't come to any conclusions. Having done my leg work to ensure that it was nto already covered, I am going to try and post a couple of pictures and...
