Yes he is a good friend. One of those friends you can call your only real honest friend a pal. But irregardless of that i would move to wherever makes sense for use to move in its own right. In our are this is how is goes for us right now. It take 12 acres for summer grazing which lasts 6 months...

    Gallatin Tn

So alot of smaller hobby type ranches for sale than. On the flat ground do they farm it with corn and such or just alfalfa. So what is the main type of cattle you do see around there? Also what is the grazing season when things grow and when they are done and your feeding hay. Is calving season...

    Braunvieh?

So really there isnt anything about them that would set them above something like a gelv or sim cow on a production wise basis but they come with less options as far as bulls are conserned. I do see that alot of the people raising them are from farther south than my area. Is it safe to assume...

    Braunvieh?

Anyone have any experience with them as purebreds or crossbred for maternal cows? Also just kind of wandering what breed the seem to compare to the most? From best i can tell i would guess Gelv but with better carcass traits but less selection. But again i dont know nothing about them so could...

    20 month old bull

I actually have a question about murray grey cattle in general. Why is it they are not more popular. Any particular reason like wild at one time or something like that. Dont marble or something. I havent seen any to my knowledge in person but the ones on here seem to be rather eye catching cows...

Grab the popcorn and your brass knuckles!

Also if i was anywhere south where it was warmer i would use brangus or F1 hereford/brahman cattle. There is no reasoning behind this from any knowledge i have at all other than i really like the looks of brangus cattle and some of them F1's really catch my eye too.

Grab the popcorn and your brass knuckles!

I would say i agree with angus baldie as maternal but i would probably switch the salers to maternal side crossed with either the angus or hereford. Not saying they cant be used as term bull succesfully but with the saler you undoubtfully add some hair which gets noticed. That same hair if was...

    Beefmaster heifers

I was offered a little better price than that. Only thing though is we may be talking about different age of cows because i wasnt trying to buy 2 3 or 4 year olds either. But really if you think about it $2500 for a good quality reg set of of cows specially if they were young isnt that bad at...

    What would you do.

Well thanks for all the input on this. Sorry been awhile since got back we have gottin real busy. I do have a place for the hiefers if he doesnt want to run them. If he keeps them there i will breed and keep. The heifers are coming two this april. Main part of the question was that if he sends...

    Beefmaster heifers

Man wish I was living farther south if thats the price good beefmaster hiefers bring cause i was talking to lasater about thier cattle a little bit ago and was offered a pretty fair deal on registered cows if i wanted to buy 50 head or so. Said that he would give a good deal for only a few...

Char influenced cattle Vs. All black

Smoke colored calves here do tend to take a hit for the most part from what little i seen and what most people say. Go to the west 90 miles or so and the yellows really do sell right with any black calves and will sometimes outsell but there is alot more char bulls that way too. IN my area it is...

    What would you do.

As some of you might recall I had bought some hiefers last year to breed. I made an agreement with my grandfather on running them. He would run them for me if I left them at his place to help me get started. So i went with it. This last fall i went to come up with a time to preg check them and...

Galloway 2 you always have some nice looking cattle. I still would have to say if i was set up and running a full cattle herd were i want to get than i would still like to visit you a little and just get some semen of even some embryos and try them out little. Granted if i had it my way there...

    Which one

I visited the guy at lasater ranch. I believe dale was the one. Real nice guy straight spoken doesnt bs alot just gets to the point. My biggest worry would be this though Buckaroo. Flushed today

Correct me if i am wrong but the way i read it was she was flushing her own cattle as well. That in my head says that she does believe her herd is good enough to use her own genetics. The goal i imagine would be like every cattlemans goal should be and that in my mind would be no matter if you...
