BSE? Bull soundness exam? or a Semen Test? I guess that is actually both eh. I ask about doing semen test, but the vet said the lapse may happen after?

    Bull fever - fertility?

Turned bull out last Sunday. Long story short - by Tuesday morning he was by himself and just not up to par. Hauled him back to the barn this morning and had the vet check. had a fever of 105 - little mucus but not bad. No rattling in chest. Gave him a long acting antibiotic and a shot for...

    Stockpiled fescue

Well, I went with the stockpiled fescue route this winter in lieu of cutting these fields for a second cutting. There is still a xxxxload of grass out there. With the exception of having to feed two rolls during one short snow/ice period I have not had to feed any hay. It is now getting very...

    Curiosity about reliable cows

On a side note of buying BM cows and reselling bred. Ever wonder how many times some of those BM's travel through that cycle? I guess it is kinda like hot potato - never know who the last one holding the bag is.

    CD Player in tractor?

I replaced the orginal stereo with a new one that the i-pod plugs into. What the heck - when a fellow is going to go around circles for hours, you need something to listen to. My kids have loaded everything form Merle to Robert Earl to Allman Bros on mine. Never get bored. A guy can only take so...

    Agricultural Applicator License

In Mo you can contact the county extension office. It was a 2 hour boring movie they made you watch then you were certified. I didn't mind taking the test, mostly saftey and enviroment stuff. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to have some education on the current types of sprays and what they do etc.

    24D and red clover.

I agree - weeds have to be actively growing for 24d to work. Best advice per Dun - Renovation is a multi-year project. I spent the first year spraying and killing weeds, fertilizing & lime. and disked and planted some areas. Some areas drilled grass seed. Plan to frost seed some clover this...
