    I have to replace the twine pump on my 435 baler and the local JD store does not have one,(and of course I have 30 acres of hay that needs to be up this afternoon) someone told me that it was just a power steering pump off of a Chevrolet???????? any ideas on a part # or if this is even true?

    I feel their pain, I only baled 300 on Wednesday after work and loaded and unloaded Thursday evening at 95 degrees and 65-80% humidity, I really didnt want any more after that... :(

    Sounds to me like you have a mouse/rat problem and there is another wire chewed somewhere that only gets hot when you crank the motor. Had a similar problem with a four wheeler once...

    Got the pump on Thursday and MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! What use to take a good 5 sec and a shot of ether now takes about a 1/4 turn of the motor and shes purring like a kitten :D Got the batteries charged, new injector pump and a new solenoid on the starter... i think it cranks and runs better...

    The sensor I replaces was the one that trips when the selector lever goes over it, actually JD calls it a switch...oops!! (I dont know the technical names of these things yet) it is # 17 in this picture(number 20 being the knob to adjust the size).
