    Ideal animal for ground

One I took for my local feed mill that they ground everything except for the ribeye and fillets. Called him nub. Hung at 746 lbs

Finally cooked a ribeye and fillet tonight. To say that was delicious would be an understatement. Fillet was nothing short of butter and the ribeye was awesome. Got just a bit too much char on the ribeye but still cooked med rare. They may be into something with this Wagyu stuff.

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

I have some f3 steers that are 18 months old and don’t plan on harvesting them till they are 28-30 months old. I didn’t get these results on the first try either. It takes time to figure out what works best for your operation.

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

28 months old f1-2 Wagyu. Time makes the difference. I will let you know how tender Saturday. @CharleyCap

Mine usually have a good bit of fat on them. If I could lessen the seam/external fat while keeping the marbling I would. Genetics and time is all I have to find the happy medium.

Here are some of my latest ones they just cut today. These were f2 Akaushi at 28 months. Biggest hung at 896 and the other at 789. Have 3 more they are cutting tomorrow. More pics to come.

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

I mix a sweet feed and corn. I vary my mixtures depending on what stage of the feed out I’m in. Just mix corn in with your feed and your good to go.

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

They should be eating about double the feed. My f1 Wagyu are going to the processor about the same time and they are cleaning up about 22 lbs of feed per head a day. This close to the end I would cut out the cotton seed and pour the corn to them. I will get some pics of mine later. Yours look...

    Butcher sooner or later?

It’s hard to make them eat and gain in the summer heat. It’s easier to put some weight on them over the cooler months.

    Butcher sooner or later?

You should be able to get the bigger one to about 1200 lbs but I doubt you will get the smaller one much more than 1000. As long as you don’t mind some smaller steaks they should both finish this fall.

    Butcher sooner or later?

What do you think current weight and age is? If they aren’t 1000 lbs yet I would wait till the first of the year and not rush it. Just my opinion for the size carcass I prefer.

    Thoughts on this Marbling?

From what I can tell from a picture it looks like it will be tender. Fat is flavor and looks like it will be an excellent steak. I think I would like a little more fat cap on it but that’s a personal preference.

Whole corn and ADM Beef trate

I have heard about the beef trate mineral. Are you ordering it in bulk or have you found a local supplier for it?

    Need help with stupid cow

She isn’t too bad. Much easier to handle now. Wish I could have fed her out but I will still enjoy eating her.

    Need help with stupid cow

Never reported on the outcome. She only hung at 380 lbs. Steaks are so tiny. Brisket was microscopic also. Never taken an animal this small before so wasn’t sure what to expect. Here is the ribeyes for a good chuckle. That’s two steaks by the way.

    Need help with stupid cow

Only jumped two fences but she is at the processor waiting for morning now. She was pawing at us in the trailer when I went to drop her off. Probably won’t get much meat off of her but I won’t have to deal with her any more. The 2 hr drive on way to the processor was the worst part. I hate...

    Need help with stupid cow

Think I can load her and get her gone today. She was pretty calm when I fed this morning. I will feed again after lunch and she should hopefully load.
