    Home security systems

I have a dog. A couple of years ago I came home from work and there was a man standing by my pickup, it had been raining most of the day and the guy was drenched but just standing there. So I pull into my garage, park my car and then walk over and see my dog laying a few feet away from the guy...

    Black Friday

I worked at Walmart several years ago and the computers, printers, and TV's that are sold on Black Friday for cheep are just that, Cheep. They are make just for the Black Friday sales and not the quality of the regular stock. I do not shop Black Friday, in fact I'll be putting out hay for the...

Heifer mauling new born calves ? Injured new born

I would give her about 3days to settle down. If she doesn't love her calf after that she would have a 1way trip to town. Heifers are stupid and I don't think they know what the calf is sometimes, but after a few days of the calf nursing she should have a clue and no longer be trying to kill it.

    Calf poop

The cows teats are most likely plugged, get her in a chute and get the milk flowing. She also looks like she has edema which makes it hard for her to let her milk down. Once you get the teat plugs out, the calf bumping the udder will lessen the edema and the calf should be able to nurse. Don't...

    Contrary

Hay prices where I am, South Central MT, hay is selling for $300- $350 a ton, that does not include hauling, that is another $6.00 a mile. My first time

My older dog has gotten skunked several times, and thanks to covid I can't smell it till she is back in the house and has rubbed on everything. I don't bother with the bathes, I have an odor neutralizing room spray that I keep on hand and spray the dog and everything she has gotten on to as well...

    Think she will make milk?

If you have not tried it, SX Calf works wonders for dehydration from scours. Helps the calf feel better and get back to eating.

    Things I absolutely hate.....

Pretty low tech here. No cell service most of the time so I would have to drive into town to use the cell to take the photo . A friend of mine keeps telling me to make sure I have my cellphone with me when I'm out on the ranch in case a bear or mountain lion attacks me, but I think the gun...

    Things I absolutely hate.....

I'm going to have to raise my hand on that. I will sit on checks for several weeks, but I live over an hour from town and don't always have time to leave the ranch and make a 2+ hour round trip into town. I guess if it were a large check I'd make the time. I hate when people write a check for...

    Bitcoin News and updates

A lot of this is just not true. Do you want to buy bitcoin and hold it planning to get rich, no, you buy it to use for something. Don't fool around with the joke coins like shiba, and the multitude of others that I can't even remember the names. You want to get one of the three top coins and use...

    Milk cow questions

I don't think the Ultimate EZ milker has pulsation and will wreck the cows udder. Do some looking on google and get something with pulsation. The Hantop is small and cheep, also Simple Pulse. I don't think either have the weight to milk a cow out properly, but if calf sharing it won't matter as...

    Stock Investments

Well, first off I bought bitcoin back in the dark ages when it was two for a penny, then sold some when it went to $60,000 each. You sell when it gets to the point of "how much would I kick myself if it crashed right now". You need to know which coins have utility, or will have utility and buy...

That's why they started using the 2FA. If someone gets into your account, then they would still need to get to your cell phone or email to get your 2FA code. Hackers can get into your regular bank to, and that's all the wallets are, is your crypto bank. You buy you crypto then move it to a...

Know Your Customer-normally it's a selfie of you holding your DL or passport. You also have to set up a 2FA, which is a 2 factor Identification before you take anything out so no one else can get into your account.

I like Coinbase the best, you sign up for an account, do your KYC and link it to either your bank account or a credit card. I think there are limits on how much you can buy at first.

    Bred Heifers requiring Nursing Intervention?

Normally a couple of times in the chute and force them to let the calf nurse is all it takes, if she still won't let it nurse after that then it a one way trip to the locker or sales barn.

    Spring hasn't sprung

I'm about an hour North of Billings MT, on top of the Bull Mtns. We ended up with almost 2feet of snow and temps were close to 0 over night most of the week. It was pretty nice yesterday actually got up around 30 and sunny but it's snowing again now. Its actually snowed off and on since...

    Red angus on black baldys

That doesn't always hold true. I have several black baldys bred to red bulls and have never gotten a red calf.

    Spring hasn't sprung

Spring is definitely on hold here. I'm in a blizzard right now, forecast up to 13" of snow and temps down to 5f. I tried to walk to the barn but the wind was wanting to blow me over, I've got at least 8" of snow and 3to 4foot drifts. I could see cows under the lean to, and just hope the calves...
