    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

I’d sa I’d say the tires would get me by a good 5-10 years, unless I cut one...which I’m prone to do! None of the draw par or lift arms seem worn much at all on this thing. In appearance it’s a 1500 hour tractor. I’ve seen rougher with much lower hours.

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

Thats what i was expecting. I'll do all of my own labor so i can offset the cost some. I have built a set of splitting stands that work really well for these tractors. I'm not scared of an over haul, but i wanted to be sure i could get a few years out of it before i had to do it. I'm a welder...

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

what constitutes significant repairs? I have a friend that rebuilds injectors and pumps, so i wouldn't be out much money there. I'm not concerned with rebuilding the clutch pack in the shuttle.. Shouldn't be much different than a clutch pack in an automatic trans. What else would you begin...

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

Here are a few pictures i grabbed of it. The matt was taken out due to the hydraulic leak in the cab, but its cleaned up and ready to go back in when i get the leak fixed.

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

From what I gather, that is the number 1 complaint on these tractors. The entire ac system was replaced 3 years ago and a new compressor was put on it this spring.(clutch on old compressor went out). He's good about keeping the condenser and stuff blown out pretty much daily when using it. So...

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

Thank for the replies guys. I guess the hours just scared me a little, but for the money I should be okay. At 5,000 hours it has proven itself a worthy workhorse. It does have a hydraulic leak where the brake master cylinder rods come through the cab, but a seal is available for that. Also one...

    Kubota M9540HD buying advice

Hey guys, looking into a kubota M9540 cabbed tractor, 4wd, loader.. Has the ultra grand cab with air ride? seat. The tractor is around an 08 or 09 model. Been very well cared for. Interior cleans up super nice, exterior looks really good. The tractor was purchased new w/o a loader and a new...

    Town Creek Brangus Sale

Gotcha. I may try to make it down to the sale this weekend. I have an angus operation with a touch of brangus here and there. Seems my calved with a touch of brangus always seem to outperform the angus calve at the scales. I'm really interested in one of their ultrablack bulls to keep from...

    Covid-19 deaths

Nope... but if wish to not brave the dangers of those areas where steel, gas and asphalt collide, you have that option. Conversely, if you’re willing, able and ready to, you dang sure ought to be able to!

    Covid-19 deaths

Never seen the amount of tax one pays or doesn’t pay to be some badge of honor. However, I can appreciate those who do pay their share. I don’t mind paying taxes, but I’d prefer it not be calculated on the the money I earn, rather the money I spend. Stimulus checks, CFAP, crop loss, welfare...

    Town Creek Brangus Sale

Any of you guys familiar with this outfit? They are having their annual bull sale next weekend. Supposed to be close to 200 head of bred heifers as well.

    Covid-19 deaths

Couldn't agree more that there's a necessity in feeding the hungry, helping the needy, etc... It's just that the gov, in my opinion, has proven they can't do that efficiently. My preferred method would be choosing charitable orgs who have proven to be more responsible with cash. Healthy 30...

POLL Cow/calf on small acreage in Texas and deep south?

I call BS. Here in north MS we tend to push closer toward 2 acres per cow calf pair if the pasture is even moderately cared for. Invest your money in low maintenance/moderate framed cows and let them do their thing. We are building a heard on our home place and are currently running 15 pair on...

    Sewer pipe feeders

no exactly what your'e doing, but similar.. rarely have trouble with them being moved too much. We have chains on all of ours to move from pasture to pasture. Quite a joy to see the cows running behind

    Sold a bull calf

That would make sense.. We usually carry about 10-12 at a time, but i bough this cow bred to calve out with all of my others... she ended up being open so put her in with the bull to keep from losing the year on her.

    Sold a bull calf

At this particular auction, bulls and steers do about the same.. I dont know why?? There's one buyer that buys almost every bull that comes through. 138???? Man.. for that difference, it would be worth carrying a load there!

    Disc Mower Repair

Always looking for ways to save money and get the most out of equipment.. Sometimes i wish i could just trade it all in on some new stuff, but the farm account wont allow it!

    Sold a bull calf

I was hoping to get into the 120 range with him, but the consensus at the sale was that prices were down?? They only had 3 buyers there this weekend so that possibly factored into that. Its a small family owned weekly auction.

    Sold a bull calf

We were pleased with what we got for him. He was a little bigger than what i usually sell at, but he still did good for us. We had a ball. We have 3 kids under 6 so its always a fun time with them.
