Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

its a taste change no doubt but the word "off" taste. To me its "on" taste. I could see how too much would make the meat taste to far from what is being expected (good taste or bad taste), Its a different taste that was not expected. Several months ago, when my rye grass was in full bloom...

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

I have a gluten allergy, can't eat wheat. Its called celiacs disease. Corn gluten or oats, rice, has no effect on me. Even corona light has zero effect b/c the wheat protein's are filtered out enough. And if a cow ate wheat, and I ate the cow, still has no effect. People can be really silly...

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

I am using a automatic feeder so pouring in a syrup might clog up. I only finished out a hand full of steers over the years, this set up with the electric auto feeder on 50 acres I have now, is pretty new. I just have some distant (40 years ago) memories of an angus finished out on cracked...

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

Thanks for the input and pictures. first kill date is like 10/27 I think, no time to waste I like that little extra flavor kick in the meat from sweet feed but looks like I am loosing far too much starch when trying to do that. If I want starchy sweet feed, is there a name of a feed or an...

Are these f1 Wagyu's looking finished?

    Nasty grass -- help ID

I am getting a bunch of stickers right now, by the house and not my main pastures just yet. Last year, it happened about this time of year. I set my blade on the shredder as low as it could go, same with the lawn mower, it seemed to knock them back. Might have to mow every 2 weeks or even more...

If You Want to be a Cowboy Get a Job

That "unfair advantage" translates to anyone starting or maintaining just about any business. I been spec building (my real job) most my adult life and my father before me. We also used our unfair advantage to succeed at it as well. Following the human herd the same as all will at best give you...

    Deer feeder in cow pen?

I can only comment about the Hannan, I had it for over 6 months, its very useful for incrementally training my steer's digestive systems to take in more high energy foods to fatten them up for slaughter. it works good for me but do not use whole corn (gets stuck), use cracked corn or small...

    Deer feeder in cow pen?

I bought a hannan automatic feeder, ac power and under a roof, holds 20 bags. I put purina 14% protein "creep" pellets. It was good decision. I did a lot of research and found that homemade feeders can over feed our cattle and kill them. moreover, having that feed there constantly, prevents...

1400lb 4H Steer wants to hurt my kid

When I was an FFA boy, late 70's, we used diazepane, all it did was make a small stubborn bull act dumber. Did not help and decreases our risk of injuries. Me and my teenage brother had got kind of bruised and stepped on. I would butcher the steer now.
