How much Grain to feed your Bull?

Thank you SPH for taking the time to write that, enjoyed the read, very informative! He is 28 months old and only had 2 months to get back into shape before I kick him back out for 75 days with the springs. And that's what I was worried about was putting too much weight on and effect his...

    New Coral Height???

This is what my design looks like, open for tweaks. The 12' alley will do the heavy lifting as far as crowding goes. The pipe posts will be 10' long and going in the ground 56" if I keep the height at 62-64". Reason I was told to not go above that was once you do you have to go with 7 bar...

Thanks Bigfoot and B&G I would say 1700 to 1900lbs, didn't run him through on the scale when we pulled him off.

    New Coral Height???

Installing a new coral/catch pen in between 4 pastures. Having it bidder out. The coral will be done in pipe, with 3 1/2 inch corners, 2 7/8 inch line posts, 2 3/8s top rail and 1 inch sucker rod. What height would you all go for this kind of build. The builder is recommending 62 inches to...

How much Grain to feed your Bull?

I pulled my 28 month old sim/angus bull back in February and started feeding him hay, mineral and a rolled corn/pellet mix. He gets 8lbs in the morning, 8lbs in the evening. It's a 14% protien mix. Is he getting the right amount, too little or too much. Thank you!

    BW gestation length and winter

My calving started on time but some of the cows that should of been still 20 days out have already hit the ground. Nice healthy calves with avg weight so far in the 80's but still something to notice. Being in Central MO I think we are experiencing what Dun's vet was talking about. I look for...

    First Set of Twins

Yesterday we had our first set of twin calves, both are heifers, 78lbs & 88lbs respectfully, both are good and healthy and have been claimed by the mother. Watched again today for 15 minutes both calves ate, and both were energetic playing with nearby calves while mother kept an eye on both...

    Tomi's Rant on COOL

I have read countless articles since this video was posted. All articles are anti-Tomi. I started to believe that she was completely off base. But then I read the comments on an article by drovers. But it seems her rant was half right in it has hurt the producer since the repeal of COOL and...
