    Looking for a job??

18 hrs is tempting  I have lived 10 + years on a family farm. Have experience with hay, spray millet, cattle, goats, poultry. I'm from out west so I did have LOTS of experience with irrigation. I can drive a tractor, swather, baler. If I don't know how to do something I can always learn.

    Looking for a job??

Ok, just moved down to Florida and was wondering if there are any places/ farms to work on out here. I am just outside of Jacksonville and desperate to work hard and sweat. Any help would be appreciated. If not a job just a place to go and do some farm chores once a week to get my "feet wet".

    Question about simmentals

Actually, I'm looking at a brahma/simmental cross bull. Hoping he might add some size, color, and attitude to my small herd. I do have a yearling coming two year old bull, he's not puppy dog gentle but I can work him and so can the guy who is boarding him for me but he just don't like my dad. :D

    Question

Well, it's a 50/50 chance that she got bred. I'm leaning more on her being open but she is supposed to come in tomorrow if she is not bred.

    Question

Has anyone had a cow get bred and then come back into heat? Do they tend to show signs of heat just once or will they continue to "cycle" up to a certain point in their pregnancy?

    Question about simmentals

Thanks guys so basicly the temperment of the cattle reflects the temperment of the owner/handler. But every once in a while you can get a knothead. :D

    Question about simmentals

Just wondering what the general temperment of this breed is like? Are they known to be gentle like Jerseys or hot like the brahma, or just plain ornery like angus and holstiens?

    Scholarships

Thanks for all the help. I have tried fafsa but got turned down. I still live at home so maybe it was because of my dad's income.

    Pureblooded Chianina Cattle

Thanks for all the responses. As far as disposition goes I'm ok with either or, just needing a ball park figure so to speak.

    Pureblooded Chianina Cattle

Is there anyone in the U.S. that raises the pureblood chianina cattle and not the crosses? I'd like to know more about them such as average temperment in bulls and cows, average size (I know they are BIG), what kind of custom handling facilities are needed? And stuff like that. Thanks Stef
