Really everyone if there is a known problem SET OUT TRAPS!!!!!!!! If you had a hole in the fence that your cows were going through you would fix it. It looks very healthy other than that. his ears, eyes, demeaner all point to healthy. Since I have had it(2 days) it is eatting hay and drinking water without...

need advice- selling a 1 month old calve

What part of the country are you in? Can you post a picture? I wouldnt sell it for less than 150.00, the calf will be easily weaned and is healthy even if it needs to be bottle fed for a short period of time.

less than week old bull calf

You will need to feed it milk by bottle ideally for 3months. The feeding are twice daily with powdered milk from your local coop or farm supply store. In the barn you have the calf penned up, always have high quality hay, fresh water, and calf starter feed available for it. Keep it sheltered in...

can I share a sad mishap? Heifer injured...

I know I'm alittle late on this one! You can give her plain Aspirin for pain swelling or fever. Also make sure that you have mineral with Magnesium down this time of year it will prevent grass teteanus, and winter dysentery. I hope your calf does well.

    Steers for Butcher

NO worries about the vaccines, that is more for prevention of losing ur heard to harmful illnesses. If your going to put them in the freezer just know that it will be ALOT more tastey if having been fed with grain. I have heard of people getting meat back from processing and either not liking...

New member and new calf too!

Think of her as a new born! All they do is eat, sleep, and use the bathroom. If its that cold I wouldnt want to run and play either. I would make sure mom is fed well with grain, and pen them both up in the barn. That way you know mom isn't out feeding herself and not baby. Does the calf...
