    Altitude / Brisket Disease

I live at 7300ft and cattle go to 12000ft for 5 weeks in July. Try and buy those calves from higher elevations. I wouldn't bring those calves from lower elevations. You'll lose plenty. It won't mat ter if they are heavier or younger. If they are prone to brisket they'll be dead no matter the...

Exhaust Brake on a 95 Dodge

Wondering if anyone has a BD exhaust brake. I've been around PacBrake a bit and wasn't to impressed with the hold back nor the way it held up. So was looking at something else.

    JD 6415 hydraulic flow lever

When I lift the little plastic stopper to lock the lever into continuous flow it won't flow. If I hold it about half into the lock position it keeps things going. Any suggestions to have the lock position keep fluid flowing, right now I'm having to tie baling twine to hold the lever into position.

CG weigh system in feed truck

I tried all that. This system is older maybe it's just wore out. Do you think I can get a new display inside and out while still using the same setup as far weigh bars under the box?

CG weigh system in feed truck

I can't get my outside meter to read. Inside the cab works good but when I toggle it to read outside I get nothing. Ran a test light on wires running out to the meter and all I get is a clicking noise inside the main box in the cab. Any ideas?

    Gelbvieh roll call

Been breeding Gelbvieh since the 80s. Used a lot of Vallahalla bulls and Broken Fork out of Colorado. Good cattle.

    Tires

I must have got a bad batch. These were the worst tires I've ever put on a pickup. I will never buy them again.

    Cow tore bottom eyelid off

I had one do the same thing last winter. It got a little weepy but to look at her today you wouldn't know it. I watched her scratch her eye on a little chain hook on a gate. She got it caught and then pulled it. She will be fine.

    Anyone have Gelbvieh

We've had Gelbvieh cattle since the early 80s. They are tough to beat. Some of the best cows we've had are GV X Tarentaise cows.

    Which bull to order

I like both bulls quite a bit as well. The only thing that I don't like on Chisum is he looks a bit sloppy on his front end. But I've heard good things about his calves.

    pen hookers

Everywhere is different. It would be interesting to watch them work. I'm just imagining when I'm unloading at my local barn if someone was trying to buy my livestock on my trailer as I'm unloading what the employees at the barn would be thinking. But I guess there's a place and a purpose for...

    setting a cattle guard?

Railroad ties will last a long time and it's cheaper than concrete.

    pen hookers

Do they usually just back trailers together and exchange livestock that way? Or would they use the sale barn facilities?

    pen hookers

Those type of sales do go on without the state getting involved. I was just meaning they wouldn't be hustling sellers outside an auction barn here.

    Some of my weaned bulls

    I like the 2nd bull.
