Toby Keith, Larger-Than-Life Country Music Star, Dies at 62

Our whole family stood outside on our patio and belted out Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue every 4th of July. When our son was serving in Afghanistan we sang it especially loudly, and even more loudly when he came home safe. Tody Keith really captured the American soul in that song. His...

    Electric driver-less tractor.

I saw a driverless tractor on TV - it was in a murder mystery show and had been wired to be driven by remote control. LOL I think if you had a tractor planting huge fields of corn, soybeans, etc. like @504RP was talking about, it would have to be on flat even fields. If the tires hit a furrow...

4 oz of Beef per day allowed?

Sadly true. I always cooked from scratch. Eating out with a family of 6 was a treat and too expensive for what you get. We raised rabbits for meat, hens for eggs, I grew a large garden and had fruit trees. Later we raised our own hogs, lambs, veal, and meat goats, and bought our beef at the...

    BELTIE!

Loved reading this thread. Big change in the cow from when you bought her. She's looking great! Can't wait to see the calf.

    Breeding bull to daughters

To go back to the original post, It sounds like Pineywoods230 is in the process of trying to grow his herd with what he has. He likes his bull and what he is throwing. Maybe Pineywoods230 can't afford the high prices for replacement heifers/cows right now. Maybe he has plenty of grass to...

    Breeding bull to daughters

Inbreeding (father x daughter, sibling x sibling) and linebreeding (2nd cousins, etc.) are all tools to reproduce the best traits. You have to know what faults your bull has or produces and what faults the cows have. You shouldn't breed related animals with the same or similar flaws to each...

Not an honest used truck out there....

We have a 1999 Ford diesel 350 crew cab dually 4WD long bed with the big engine - that was the first new body style. Love it. DH has kept it nice with all repair work being done at dealer. He had the leather front seats replaced several years ago. Last year the plastic container that holds...

    Double trouble!

Dogs and kids - they both make you crazy, but the stories keep you in stitches for years. (after you recover of course)

What is the breed of cow in Jurassic Park?

Probably just some mixed breed cow that the producers were able to get cheap. Probably had several of them to use in retakes. Like the goat in the T. Rex pen.

    Golf Balls in pasture

We had a similar problem with our pool. DH accused our little kids of throwing rocks that ended up in the pol until he realized it was the crows flying overhead and dropping stones No idea why they were flying around with the rocks.

    How’s your grass?

Happy to hear that the rains are finally coming to some of the areas hit hardest by the drought.

    Favorite air freshener ?

My son makes jerky on his Trager. It takes him 4 days to prepare, first day slicing the meat, then 24 hours to marinate, another day drying on the Trager, one day coolig and putting nto Ziploc bags. 30 minutes for family and friends to eat it all! LOL
