I would not get anything shorter than 9' cut. The GMD 280 is what you need or at least the GMD28.

What size rounds 4x5, 4x6, 5x5 ???? 4 rolls per head here if they are 4x5.

Tee off your nozzle line with a valve and an agitation line so you can agitate while filling the tank or traveling to fields. The relief valves aren't made to have full pressure running thru them foe long periods of time. I have had several go bad from putting high pressure thru them for long...

The Hamilton nozzle you selected will cover about 40' and is a great nozzle. The Teejet cluster nozzle will only cover 40' and is not near as good as the Hamilton. I have run both and the Hamilton is by far the better of the two. You can also get the Hamilton style nozzle from tractor supply.

Your over thinking this...no need to worry about expansion.

Check around some of the local implement dealers. They usually have some busted shafts the you can get the tube off of. I have several laying behind my shop.

Your not shopping in the right places.

You should be able to pick up a new shaft for less than $100.00.

Check at the local feed store or equipment dealer about who is custom baling in your area, then call them and ask what they are charging. I charge $20 for a 4x5 roll in SE Okla but across the river in Texas it is more like $22 to $25. so every local is different.
