    Prussic poisoning

We are going to be cutting some milo stalks soon. This time we will be shredding them with a batwing mower instead of a mower conditioner. Will this help make it safer or should still be concerned with poisoning? Thanks

    Prussic poisoning

Talked with Vet today and that what he believes it is. Said I was lucky to only loose one and the other 2 that had signs of poisoning would have full recovery. He said that only one leaf could kill one and it not necessary that all of the Johnson grass would be infected in the pasture. I sure...

    Prussic poisoning

Lost one to prussic poisoning tonight, first time I ever had a problem with it. I had some cows off a real small pasture for less than 3 weeks. Had hay in the area and was waiting to move it. Got it moved and let cows in and less than hour and half had one dead and 2 affected by it. Called Vet...

    Dallis grass hay ergot Poisoning

Got some yearling calves that have been acting strange. They stagger and have shakes and some times fall down then get up. Talked to a few people and they said it could be ergot poisoning as they been eating hay with dallis grass in it. I have replaced hay with dallis grass free hay. I did...

    Herd brand GT-77 ATV Seeder

Got 3pt one from Herd, it been a good one though not in best shape when I bought it used. Herd company is a good company and great to work with. Bought some decals for my old 3pt one and they were great to deal with and reasonable priced as well for the decals.

    Self-Dumping Round Bale Trailer

I got one of the 5 bale trailers, bumper pull. Can load hay with 3pt forks and just pull a lever and dump one bale at a time. Not sure who made it as I had it for many years, but it was blue in color also. Do not think they make them any more. I got mine from a dealer up around Bonham, TX. I may...

    Army worms

Jo never thought about it before, but where mine have started this time is a area that has about 15 to 20 native pecan trees. Talked to a friend who farms row crops and he said he was seeing them in corn ground too. One other thing we have noticed this year is allot more mice and rats as in the...

    Army worms

Texas Gal you beat me on this, I was just going to start a thread on army worms when I saw yours. I got them as well. Looks like only 5 acres affected so far, but they are on the move. I count a few square feet and had like 4 to 6 per square foot. It sure made the grass brown, looked like...

    FORD F-250 BATTERIES

Johnson Controls make Interstate batteries ( or use too). When I worked for Johnson controls they made many brands. Autozone, Sears, Interstate, John Deere, and several others I cannot remember now. Not sure what they make now as it been a while since I worked there.

    Need a new round baler

I guess the way I was looking at it if it took me an hour to bale 20 bales using twine and with netwrap I could bale 30 in an hour. On 30,000 bales that would be 1500 hours of baling vs 1000 hours baling. I am assuming that there would be the same wear and tear on a baler for each hour running...

    Need a new round baler

If you can bale about 1/3 more hay with a netwrap, will your baler last about 1/3 longer since it not having to make that many revolutions to tie string vs a couple turns on a netwrap one. Just curious as to what wear and tear on a baler would be between net and twine. Seems to be a 30, 000 bale...

    Define good neighbor

Same as what LRWright said but also one that will help you out when you need it and you help him out wen he needs help and neither one of you knows who has helped more. Just help each other if you can when you can and knowing that he will help you if he can as well.
