    One or Two?

I really don’t know. Probably just one calf. But she does have a good size belly. Been looking more at the right side now thanks to someone here. When we had some Herefords here we had 10% of them had twins. The next year was again close to 10% just under. So I watch for it a little more. We...

    One or Two?

I sure hope not lol. We did get them Preg checked in fall so they should be good unless they slipped a calf. Thanks, they’ve done quite well this winter on the feed and easy winter

    One or Two?

She was AI’d to Resource June 19. Will see if she caught. Could be a week or 2 from calving if she caught. So of there’s more calf in there it would show up on the right side? And I will post again what the outcome is

    Big dream coming true

The best place in life is to feel like you’re living the dream. Good luck in your new venture. We got into AI in our herd because we wanted to raise our own bulls as well. The cost of buying quality bulls was getting to take away to much of the profit for us especially when u factor in an...

    Big dream coming true

Nice cattle. So are you getting into purebred cattle now? Interesting seeing the different breeds in other countries.

    Better late than never

We just got a foot of snow over the weekend. It was generally appreciated because we need the moisture to get things going and the spring runoff to fill dugouts and sloughs. Won’t be grazing till may/june. Nice to see pics of green grass and happy cattle!

    Peak Dot Angus experience?

Just got my sale book in the mail. Look forward to each of there sales. I may be wrong on this but I think they are the largest black angus seed stock operations in Canada. If not the largest then near the top. They run 1000 cows. I really admire the program. Was telling the wife the other day...

We have one of those sleds too and love it. We also put a longer rope. Can just about handle any cow and move the pair safely. Another thing so the foot doesn’t work its way out the top if u have a lively one we just drilled a couple holes and put a tarp strap across the front that holds the...

    Replacement females???

It pays to cull hard for fertility and other issues. I plan on tightening the breeding window and letting the crème rise to the top. The times that I gave a cow a second chance because they were my favourite they disappoint 9/10 on the second go around. Dealt with a fellow who had some...
