Just a update on the 5day old calf that I never saw nurse. Day 6 caught him stealing off of one of the other cows. Put his mom in the head gate and all of her teats were blocked her bag was soft not engorged I think she was losing her milk because he wasn't sucking on her. Got them all working...

No they are always together , I will separate them tonight from the herd.

Thank you for the advice. Going to put mother and calf together tonight again and see if there is more poop tomorrow.I would feel alot better after I see it nurse. It did not do a happy dance.

Hi we were giving three 50 lbs bags of mustard someone got at a farm auction. We have beef cattle and can`t find anywhere that says they will eat it. I think it might be in the cabbage family not sure. has anyone ever planted it or feed it to beef cows thanks

our cows are not used to alfalfa hay. thought it would be good protien but we had know to controling them as it was in round bales. so we passed on the alfalfa clover mix for this year. thanks

We make square bales but always buy some round bales of a native mix of grasses .OK can I feed them a round bale of straight alfalfa ,clover mix? Its high in protein but will I have to watch out for bloat?

Thanks for all the replys. I did get to wash off the foot and clean out between his toe but i couldn`t get his hoof up to check it. the pipe sounds like the way to go that should keep him wear I want him. thanks again

Put out a few bales and the cows were enjoying them I saw something orange in the hay. I couldn`t beleive it my orange sweater. was wondering were it went to.surprized it got through the baler.
