Cattle are food animals, and even so, I and my spouse do not eat meat. Horses are companion animals like ones dog or cat. Yes, people eat their cats and dogs, but that does not make it "right". End of story

We have a cow lift, attaches to the hips and is lifted nicely by the tractor bucket. Had one slip on an embankment and had nerve damage to her hind legs . With dex and lift help and time she recovered 100% .
