    Thoughts on this bull

Lineman, Gosh I'd have to do some digging to tell you what the certs cost me - my younguns are now having there second calves. Off the top of my head I was thinking $40 but not sure as it's been awhile. They were not real pricey might have been 30 just not sure. Just call Select Sires on...

    Thoughts on this bull

Just called Select and had them release certs to my AHA account. No trouble at all. A friend of mine just registered some last fall and had no trouble either. Although from what I have been reading on here I wasted my time & money since my girls are polled.

    Thoughts on this bull

What is the going rate on Achiever semen? Might have some to sell. Been in my tank since select sires sent the shipper to me - its not been traded around. I have some really good young females out of him and have more in the tank than I expect to use.

    A decent hereford ?!!!?!!!

I wouldn't use a 5.3 BW on heifers & probably not on 2 year olds - but a clean fronted +5.3 BW polled Hereford would not worry me anymore than a Charolais bull on cows. I used Enyeto another 5+ BW 8006 bred bull that Mead owns on mature cows - the calves were big both years I used him but...

    Twins

I think the maintenance level of the cow has much to do wether she can handle twins or not. A higher maintenance cow has twins and it is the curse - just about impossible to get them to breed back on time. At least in my herd this has been the case. It was interesting for me to see this...

    ABS Global's Hereford line-up

I have had 5 ontime calves - purebred and commercial. All have been 100% pigmented - patches of pigment not just eyeliner. They are were pretty big square hipped calves with quite a bit of bone to them. I only used him on cows and all were born unassisted but they were larger than I had...

    ABS Global's Hereford line-up

For the heck of it I pulled up the ABS page after reading your post - clicked to see what they are selling for Herefords in the countries beyond the USA. link to the Brasil section - interesting to me that they have more info on the US bulls on a Brasil site than the US one...

    ABS Global's Hereford line-up

I agree with Knersie on this one! Wish my ABS rep who fills my tank understood it - he hits me hard on the nitrogen fill price and wonders why I don't use their bulls. I have had more than one ABS reps tell me they don't really even need hereford bulls in their line-up. It's been my...

    NT Plato Rupert 0590

Curious what the Hereford History Buffs/Scholars can tell me about this bull and his pedigree be it good bad or ugly. He is the sire of the AI bull Grazer. If there is a photo of 0590 somewhere I would really love to see it. I see that he is linebred back to NT Rupert, wondering what...

    Any thoughts about this bull?

I saw Mr Gold last summer prior to the dispersal. Simply put I saw him and bought semen. Correct and thick would be my description. Not a whole lot of daughters to make a statement about the udder quality but his dam and full sibs all would lead me to believe there will be no problems...

    Your Best Steak

    Buffalo in the Pasture...

Question for those of you that have some buffalo knowledge - I am a Hereford breeder and I have a potential customer that has been buying steers from me to feed out. He is a hobby farmer 200% he also has a couple buffalo cows - or a cow and a heifer to be exact. He asked me about buying a...

    A flash in the pan?

Have you seen this video on CRR's web page. It's not About Times calves but some calves bred the same way from the same herd. http://www.coyoteridgeherefords.com/females.html I think you will find between his owners - he was used pretty extensively for a young bull last year and we might...
