    Feedback on this bull?

He weighed only 60 lbs. at birth, grew fast, is very black, good scrotal circum., good disposition and gets the job done. We'll watch that back end. Yes, the calf in the background is his from the red angus cow. Thanks for the comments.

    Feedback on this bull?

Ok, here's another photo I found with a better view of the females.

    Feedback on this bull?

No, I'm not tall, but I was standing up on my ATV. Lesson learned! He was standing in the same spot when the photos were taken - he just turned his head for the 2nd shot and I zoomed in.

    Is this a diluter heifer?

3waycross: "R U in Colorado and your cattle are in Kansas? or the other way around." I live in Colorado, and our cattle are in Kansas. My brother manages our family ranch.

    Is this a diluter heifer?

Yes, the Red Angus dam was registered at the time my brother purchased her from a Red Angus breeder. Unfortunately, I don't know about her parentage verification. The steer has a short tail - I assume it's a rat tail. Sorry it's not a better photo. I live in another state from where the...

    Feedback on this bull?

This is another photo I took yesterday in the 100 degree heat. Is it any better? (Obviously I'm not that great at photographing cattle.) He really looks good in person, although he's young yet.

    Is this a diluter heifer?

Here's more info and a photo of the dam (the Red Angus cow in the middle facing the camera). It's interesting to note that her next calf, a steer, is standing to her left with it's back to the viewer, and it's a dark charcoal gray with a rat tail. I assume after reading the posts above that...

    Feedback on this bull?

Here is a photo of the Balancer bull we've been raising (sire and dam are registered Balancers from OZZ cattle). His ear tag is 3W. We're kinda proud of him. Comments?

    Is this a diluter heifer?

The other calves coming out of this bull are black. There weren't any other bulls around at the time - the only other possibility might be a pasture of steers at a nearby ranch. Perhaps one of them wasn't banded properly?

    Is this a diluter heifer?

My brother owns this heifer from a registered red Angus cow and a registered homozygous black Balancer (Gelbvieh/Angus) bull. Is this heifer considered a diluter color, or just a "wild" color? We are wondering what kind of calf to expect from it if bred to another black Balancer bull. I've...

5 1/2 mo. old heifer has tail up, hunchbacked and lame

My heifer is still not recovered - tonight she's about 1/8th mile from the rest of the herd, she's still breathing hard, and she's laying down a lot. When she urinated tonight, it seemed forced and was a dark color and not a lot. Maybe she doesn't feel well enough to go and drink as much as...

5 1/2 mo. old heifer has tail up, hunchbacked and lame

FYI - Took her to the vet this morning. He thinks heifer came into heat, and one of the larger cows mounted her and bruised her. He gave her some steriods for the pain, and an antibiotic because she had a fever. He thinks she'll be ok. He commented three times on what a nice looking heifer...

5 1/2 mo. old heifer has tail up, hunchbacked and lame

Just thought of something - we have a little bull in there that was born the end of March - almost 5 mos - could he have done the deed? There aren't any other bulls around, so I doubt if a bull jumped the fence.

5 1/2 mo. old heifer has tail up, hunchbacked and lame

There was one in the same pasture until 10 days ago, then we moved it to a different location. I thought perhaps she could have been bred several weeks ago and maybe now she's aborting? Could she act that way if she was aborting? She's only 5 1/2 mos. old, but she's Gelbvieh/Angus (Balancer)...
