    Gerber Kaiser attn: Dun

    Probably. Will he work?

    Developing a young bull; feed

2.6 pounds per day average gain is the ideal according to an article I read the other day. I think it's going to be hard to nail down an adg that will fit every bull because of genetic differences. I try to just have an adequate mineral program, and primarily use a 14% creep, with perhaps a bit...

    Gerber Kaiser attn: Dun

In the new 09 Hereford AI book. What do you think? Dun, the pic is taken from the rear, and I think this one is probably wide enough.

    ABS Bull: Proficient

I like the pedigree, and side profile. I'd guess based on profile that he's at least average rear width, and certainly not a hatchet. There is enough going for him that he has a place in the industry IMO.

    New horned hereford bull

It's important for different reasons depending on your location. In the northern climes, they need to grow a good long thick haircoat, and it's not as important that they slick off so much as it is in the south in the summer. In the south, they need to be able to quickly transition into a...

Whadda ya think about this bull

Top 5% phenotypically, and longer than he looks IMO, because if you take three or four inches of depth off him, he'd look longer.

    Bright Future revisited

I'd like to hear what any of you who have actually used Star Bright Future think of him. We just butchered a steer sired by him. The steer had a 250ish day weight of 856 right before we purchased him, about two weeks off the teat. He grew rapidly, but really didn't put on much weight until I...

    New horned hereford bull

The Richard Day cattle have the teats and udders, body mass, 5 frame score, and live 17 years pretty regularly. They are not that heavily pigmented, but have been culled hard for years against eye problems. They are primarily line-bred Hazlett/Turner Ranch. Ned Jr. was one of the breeders I...

    New Black Hereford..??

Nice pair. If I'm not mistaken, that cow is a "Kentucky" (JMS Victor) daughter from Flying G. I recognize the black ear tag.

    Limflex by design

I've yet to find the "black hereford" that Mike raised....how many pages back is it?

    New horned hereford bull

I also like some of the Deewall bulls I've seen, and I know a breeder who seems to be having good luck with one. The frame score should be right, and I know nothing negative on udders. I'd have to get back to you on pigmentation.

    For the hereford breeders

I think the Trask cattle have some "Battle" names among their pedigrees.

Ditto! Now let's see those baldie-flexes!

    New horned hereford bull

I've mixed feelings on the fat issue, because I'm afraid we lose some easy-keeping ability when it gets into the negative range. The Harland bull is impressive. What about Monument? I personally highly regard Mark Domino 8020, and the Day 943 bull among others. There are some folks on these...
