    Land Swindlers

I often wonder if these offers ever work. Usually mine has an offer that’s about 1/3 of the going rate locally. If anyone is selling land that cheao then I need to start sending out letters

    Ford 5610

I’ve had a lot of hours sitting on ford tractors. If it’s been maintained that tractor would be high up on my list to buy. Nothing complicated and they are built right

Keeping a bull all by himself?

Its been 50/50 for me. I now run a couple cows with my bull to solve any issues.

    Lasting cattle prices

I would probably follow Kennys advise. Buy some stockers and purchase LRP on them for the next couple years. I sold about 25% of my herd this spring and summer because of drought. I don't plan on buying anything back until prices come back down which unfortunately will happen at some point.

    Hay Unrollers

I agree it depends on the the person and management style. I switched to unrolling s couple years ago. I’ll still use hay feeders if I see a big cold front or snow storm coming. I think my waste is close to the same between the feeder and unrolling. I’ll always unroll going forward because...

    Beef Cattle Inventory

I am not buying into any conspiracy theories. Prices haven't been great when compared to input prices, so I imagine a lot of people are holding off on growth. Last year the west/ southwest had a bad drought and now it has moved to the Midwest. Makes growing the nation's overall herd pretty...

    How’s your grass?

Glad to see good moisture in Wyoming. It sounds like the wildlife took a big hit this year and hopefully this helps start building herds back up.

    How’s your grass?

It appears most guys are getting 50% hay crop compared to most years here in Missouri. Rode around the pastures yesterday and without rain expect to be out of grass by mid-August. Selling 25% of bred cows this week so I have enough grass to get us into fall regrowth and hoping the rain comes...

    Cow prices

They look good. What stage are they? They have a lot of paint and stickers on them down there. Here there is one sticker. If something is bred there will be on more sticker. Color tells you the stage bred

    Cow prices

I watched some young, bred heifers and cows in 2nd period bring around $1000 to $1500 here in central Missouri this week. Pairs were all under $2,000. This wasn't a special cow sale so that could be why the prices were low and we are pretty dry so people are selling more than usual.

    How’s your grass?

Sounds about like what we are seeing as well. If it all seeds out and is short I am thinking it might have to get mowed so it regrows. If rain doesn’t come though then mowing it wouldn’t make sense

    How’s your grass?

East Central MO. I would agree that I can't remember a year with grass being this bad first of May. It's been dry and colder so far. Looks like next week the pattern is changing a little bit warmer and have some rain chances again. I usually keep my fall calves until August. Selling them this...

    Mineral feeders

I have a couple as well. Can't say it took them long to figure out. Maybe put some salt on ground next to it and on top of it. I mounted mine on a junk semi tire and pull it around as i move my cows

    Calf prices

I’m not sure what’s going on here. This isn’t hard to change though. Preg check your cows and ship the open ones now. Prices are too high to keep free loaders. Post a picture of new bull and some of your cows. The guys on here know thier cows and can help. They can also give you an idea on...

    Cow prices

That makes sense Bird Dog and appreciate your time. This might be the first year I use it. I have 20 that should be in the 600 to 700 lb range for around first of August. Right now everything is pointing to prices staying strong, but I am not a big risk taker and these bank failures have me...
