I would probably follow Kennys advise. Buy some stockers and purchase LRP on them for the next couple years. I sold about 25% of my herd this spring and summer because of drought. I don't plan on buying anything back until prices come back down which unfortunately will happen at some point.

They look good. What stage are they? They have a lot of paint and stickers on them down there. Here there is one sticker. If something is bred there will be on more sticker. Color tells you the stage bred

I watched some young, bred heifers and cows in 2nd period bring around $1000 to $1500 here in central Missouri this week. Pairs were all under $2,000. This wasn't a special cow sale so that could be why the prices were low and we are pretty dry so people are selling more than usual.

Sounds about like what we are seeing as well. If it all seeds out and is short I am thinking it might have to get mowed so it regrows. If rain doesn’t come though then mowing it wouldn’t make sense
