    California bans calf roping

Ken, you made a very accurate statement…”too democratic” could not say it more accurate…there are people from Australia want to settle, I guess some had enough

    California bans calf roping

I am not sure what area you are referring to. Mostly it is like WY or Canadian provinces…6 month feeding on average

    California bans calf roping

Hi folks, just leave it here. If you are looking for a “normal place” to farm and live. Look at Russia, specifically Siberian region. Plenty of land and grass and no stupid regulations about calve roping and others:)

Is it too late? And how to manage?

I did not do AI on heifers, just 2 bulls for 35 heifers...this year I want to try AI after the ultrasound...but observing them, I can tell that most of them are cycling

Is it too late? And how to manage?

Thanks. I agree, grass still good, and we still have warm weather...as for feeding, I decided and made about 180 bales of wrapped baleage. Think to add baleage to hay about end of Feburary or so. I had to wait that long for AI due to few things: delay of CIDR, lack of people and also, I had most...

Is it too late? And how to manage?

Hi fellows, I have a question, well maybe few questions for the board. I think I might be running late with the AI for my first-calf heifers, they way things are, I should be able to AI them around 10-15 of September. With bull following after a week or so. I plan to use 7+7 synch protocol...

No I did not take the course. But seems like not all concepts will work for everyone. And yeah 2x4 sometimes is the best took:)

Greekrch, do mind me asking what principles do ranching for profit propose and why in your opinion they dont work? Especially in climates like ours?

First time heifers. Time to think about breeding season.

Greekrch, I agree with you. My plan is not only put up hay, but do couple hundred baleage Wraped, so closer to spring I can start feeding better feed to them

Thanks for the replies. First let me answer why AI? My herd is very small as of right now. And I dont want to keep too many bulls for later. Second I want to do AI my self as I get through the training and doing it myself that should keep the cost down, eventhough it is not that expensive to...
