    Bad luck keeps on coming

There is such a mixed opinions on Wagyu. Why aren't they interested in paying more? Are you just burgering them out?

Why are you getting out of wagyu/akaushi?

    What to do?

Might be too late for this, but also consider if there are some young folks interested in working with you all. I know of a few that would love to get started and have the work ethic and skills but are boxed out by cost of land. Local folk seem to only want to rent to established larger...

    cow peas

That's what I use it for, burn down in spring and plant cover then disk and plant perennials in September. @LocustDaleCattleCompany does repeated summer annuals for stockers I believe.

    cow peas

I've done rays crazy summer annual mix a few years. It's 61% cowpea with some Sudan sorghum, pearl millet, radish and sunflower. We graze with polywire divisions and can cycle back and regraze in a 4 weeks time. Good mix but for regrazing it's mostly the sudan sorghum and pearl millet growing...

    Corn stalk rolls?

I'm toying with buying some I am a bit short on hay and don't want to sell any more cattle. Hay and stockpile is lower on CP this year. I didn't test this year but I noticed cows not cleaning up unrolled hay and then got an email from Matt Booher our local extension agent on just that - protein...

School me on over seeding pasture

Understood. Be safe. And you aren't in the grazing belt. I tried bale grazing one year. Left mudded up circles that turned to lambs quarter, thistle and pig weed. Four years later it's just turning to grass. That should work for you provided ground is frozen.

    Changing herds?

I hear you chaded. The grass is always greener.. I bought in on some fescue adapted black Angus and almost all of them have been sold off. We have had drought for two years and I've sold off almost every marginal cow that doesn't handle fescue or heat. It's a mix of black and red Angus and a...

    Changing herds?

I've toyed with the same thing. Two years back I bought four small frame 4-4.5 red Angus heifers off Craigslist from someone who wanted to get into cattle but changed their mind. One got pink eye and went crazy but the other three are dandy, raise calves as big as my ideal 1200 cows, aren't...

School me on over seeding pasture

What about Greg is full of BS? Id like a bale unrolled but can't get up the guts to spend 3400 when I can unroll with my old bale buggy, push it by hand and spread with a pitchfork.
