    Eye Problem

Just a guess on my part but looks like something got stuck in the lower portion of the eye which then led to the swelling and maybe infection, rather than an acute injury. thankful I've not seen that before. How'd you treat the previous cows did they heal up alright?

    JD 2755 electrical issue

55 series may be slightly different than my 4450 but did you hinge the roof up to get at the motors? If you tilt the roof up ( I believe it's two 15/16 head bolts and Philips from underneath) you should have full access to the blower assembly as well as all the cab light wiring. I would pull...

    Drought plan

What are the prices like currently out your way on cull cows and feeders? I know there's been a lot of pot loads lined up. I'm over in Virginia, prices are strong here I'm seeing 5 wt feeders just over $2 again, flashback to 2014.

Moving a semi trailer without a truck

Has anyone ever come up with a simple way to move a semi trailer around with a tractor? I was looking around for a way to go 3 point to king pin, but of course the pin is 2 feet behind the front of the box. I used my 3 point gooseneck, into a hole in the trailers hitch plate. She moves it but...

    Overseeding Timothy and Clover

Looks good! Great idea to speak with your local extension office to find what works around you. A website I used for bulk seed last year is https://covercropexchange.com/ Good to browse around and see all the varieties, they're reasonable even with shipping. If there's a co-op or feed mill near...

Black hided cattle struggling with this heat

The reason most the cattle lost were probably black is because most the steers in the feedlot are black. Has a lot more to do with housing and abnormal weather than color. If we're saying black hided cattle perform worse in the summer, presumably because of an increased heat transfer through...

    Which type of waterer?

For my money Mirafount is the only way to go, the 4-balls were around $800 6-ball $1,200. Too much stuff going on during the winter to have to worry about waterers freezing these waterers you can put in and forget about.

Clovers- enough is more than enough

So how many out there have had trouble with bloat on clover and when do you start to worry about it? Some fields we're drowning in it white clover, crimson clover, hop clover, red clover as far as the eye can see. Tiss the legume season, but most will easily stick around all summer. Some...
