    Horned or Polled

I am considering buying some Hereford bulls for a set of Angus cows.... I recently heard that the knock on Polled Herfords is a narrow rump...then I was told by another person that was not true, that the Horned Herefords would get me narrow rumps. Is all this just a bunch of bull-loney?

    Extortion

] Well the woman called one more time, but again I let the call go into voice mail. This time she said that she had hit a black bull and that after hitting him he had jumped back into the pasture. I do have a 2000# Angus bull that is easily seen from the road, standing behind 5 strands of...

I have been talking to a fellow that I want to clip a 60 acre pasture. It's open pasture and he can move over it at a reasonable pace. He's got a 14'-16' Bushhog. He is a neighbor and friend. I want to be fair with him and myself, and do not want to be insulting with a price. Any of you cow...

    Extortion

Woman called, left message on answering machine...said she had hit one of my cows last night that was out on the highway. I did not call her back, but instead went and checked along the road and along my fence and then checked my cattle. Everything looked ok, so then I called the county...

    Quail

Many fond memories of quail hunting as a boy. I spent many cold December/January Saturdays with a buddy walking miles behind a couple of bird dogs. Getting the limit happened often. We would bring the birds home, clean them and my Mom would cook them in a big, black cast iron skillet. She would...

    Converting From Jiggs to Bahia

Bahia is about the only grass that has stayed green and growing in this drought we are in.....I like it, cows don't love it, but for the moment it is all they got.

    Tomatoes

I've had cattle stand under a persimmon tree all day waiting for a persimmon to hit the ground.....If there were enough to go around, the cattle would probably do well on a persimmon diet....i kinda like 'um too, after frost that is.
