    Moorman's Mintrate Blocks and mineral

Just wonderin if anyone has any experience with the above products. I am curious about the cost and also any positive or negative results with the products. Thanks in advance for your replies.

    Redland Black Angus Sale

It was a short sale but they sold more like 100 bulls. Auctioneer Joe Goggins can really rattle through the bulls. And also they have two sales a year with one coming in Nov. I think their average was around 3500. I ended up with two bulls, it is awful hard to find bulls with that breeding...

    Fly Control

thanks for the info. I am looking for alternatives other than buying the terribly expensive fly mineral. I usually order my mineral for the summer and fall around the middle of March and was wanting to see if there was something different I could do. I am planning on putting out dustbags and...

    Fly Control

I have heard some talk of the use of ground sea shells added to mineral for a fly control method. I have been using Altosid the past few years and am looking for something different. If anyone has any info of any sort on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.

Price of range cubes in your area?

Are range cubes the same as cow cake? If they are I just had a semi load delivered at 195/ton. Cake is made up of the following: 40% Alfalfa, 30% Barley, 20% Canola Meal, 10% Soymeal. Seems to be pretty good cake, cows sure don't complain.

    Grazing stockpiled grass (under snow!)

Those are nice-looking simmental cows, out here the Simmy's look nothing like that. They are all shotgunned bodied and terribly leggy. If you brought your deep-bodied cattle out here they would put most of the Simmental breeders to shame. Thanks for the pics.

A bucket of feed surely would not hurt this animal.

Bull Pic / What do you think?

NDAngus, I wouldn't let evryone's opinion here get to you too much. I have browsed this board for quite some time but have commented very little. In my opinion most on this board wouldn't know good cattle if they jumped up and bit them in the a**. But the reality of it is that its a public board...

    Case-IH MFWD tractors

I have a neighbor right now that is looking for a next to new tractor in that hp range. He said that there is a $40000 dollar difference in comparable tractors with JD obviously being the higher dollar tractor. Case-IH tractors are good tractors but they dont hold their resale quite as well as a...

    Suggestions for new tires..

Around here with all the gravel roads and such we are lucky to get 20000 miles out of a set of tires. I've had good luck with Yokohamas and Kumhos, but if you really want a good gravel tire with not too much highway noise then just buck up and buy a set of Toyos. They are alot of money but on...

    Phenotype Evaluation please!

Not trying to be an a-hole or anything, but in my opinion that bull looks terrible. I have far better looking bulls in my bull pasture and I'm only a commercial man. Maybe it's a bad picture but I'd probably say this bull made the lineup on numbers and numbers only. Phenotypically this bull has...

    Liquid Feed vs. cubes

With the price of gas that it is I finally went with the liquid feed. I used to use Crystalyx but was wearing out a pickup delivering it. I figured I could let someone else wear out their vehicle and deliver the product. The liquid is actually a little bit cheaper also. Right now I only have to...

    The Article AGAINST Crossbreeding

Even though I raise black hided cattle I believe Trey L's post holds as much truth as any post I have ever read on this site. Well done.

    Russian Wildrye-Bozoisky type

Up here on the northern plains russian wildrye is definetly not considered a weed. I've heard from others that it is very good stuff. I have actually seen quite a bit of it in the northern part of the state. It is supposed to keep it's nutritional value throughout the year. The trouble is I've...
