    Sick Cow

We've got one cow that is sick. It's eyes are weeping, has a runny nose, and frothy saliva. The cow was bought underweight and bred. Any ideas?

    Semen shipment

Thanks for the advice. I changed the plans. Rather than taking her to the vet I'm taking her to someone who will keep her for a few days and AI her. Less of a hassle

    Semen shipment

well... either order one or order two and use both. I've always heard that one straw is just as effective as two straws - but my breeder recommended using 2 straws - one for each horn.

    Semen shipment

The most I've ever bought is three. They always shipped it to my breeder because he didn't use that bull so I'm assuming that they will ship 2 straws.

    Semen shipment

I'm hoping to have my cow AIed by the vet this year rather than take her back to my breeders. It'll be cheaper etc. The only thing is that our vet doesn't have a storage tank. I will be Co Synching my cow so I know exactly when I will breed her. If I have the semen delivered to the vet on the...

    Subsidies

that's what I'm wondering. It seems like we have created this system, it got out of control, and now we've got a false market and I'm not sure how we would survive without it. I understand Gov support like disaster subsidies - hurricanes don't really answer to our will. The USDA does not...

    Subsidies

I am fully aware that I am opening a can of worms with this topic, but I'm curious. I've been a long time member here, mostly on the show board, but I stopped posting when I graduated. I'm an animal science major and am going to be an ag teacher; I'm very interested in local based agriculture...

    CAB - Vice President Quote

Honestly I am not a supporter of CAB, if they want to call it angus I believe it should be 100% angus. The USDA sets grades but CAB has a set of specifications within those grades and there are a few physical limitations that ensure that horned breeds or Brahman aren't mixed in there and we all...

    Soak the rich

to honestly make things fair the rich should be taxed more. There are taxes like toll and sales tax which most everyone must pay regardless of income and that tax is a larger percent of the lower income bracket. Tax cuts for the rich was to try and create a trickle down economy but it didn't...

    CAB - Vice President Quote

I don't post here much anymore because I have other things going on, but it isn't taking money out of other producers pockets, the consumers are willingly paying premium for the product. There is nothing prohibiting market competition. And besides, regardless of how "angus" the CAB product is...

    Just say no to Wikipedia

all the info I have ever received from Wiki has been accurate. If you want to modify it I think it has to be reviewed 1st. I never used it for school projects but it has never led me in the wrong direction.
