Yup, probably lack of rain because you would have some seed close to the surface. Last year during the drought it took 2 months for mine to come up. Very little survived coming up so late in the season.

Yup, graze it now while you got it, down to 4-5" for regrowth. I rotational graze and saw about 1-2" growth 2-3 days after moving them.

NE Georgia here and it's a relief to finally see greenup after last year. Got the rest of my rotational grazing wire up over the weekend. 10 Acres cut into 16 pieces now. I drilled oats and fescue in October and got rain in December. Also have volunteer rye and broadcast clover in February.

I pile it up with the loader for a few weeks then move it to my garden spot before discing and tilling. Then drag haying area to smooth it out.

Modified by taking the axle out and flipping end to end so it turns the right direction, pulling instead of pushing. I didn't want to use my 3 point spreader and tear up young fescue and oats since it's finally growing some.

I'll shorten the tongue before I use it again so it won't be so tipsy.

I spread mine a couple weeks ago with a modified yard spreader, mixed with play sand. 10 pounds seed to 50# sand after mixing it in a protein tub. It did pretty good but seed did float to the top a little. Just stopped and mixed by hand a few times. I just have 10 acres to do.
