    Moderate Frame

There's also a direct correlation between mature cow size and amount of feed to keep her. In our area I'm seeing lots of 1200-1300lb steers at 18months at the sale yards. Makes more sense to me to sell at 900-1000 at 12 months and convert that extra 6months of feeding steers into more cows on...

    Moderate Frame

Very interesting discussion here so far, agree with Ken that in Aus it seems like you take a knock on moderate framed cattle at the sale yard, even if they're better presenting than their larger framed compatriots. I'd love to get people's opinion on mature cow weight and frame score. It seems...

Honest opinions. He is mine and likely will be for a while. Tell me the bad about him

Good looking bull. Would love to see a top down view as he looks like he might be lacking a bit of thickness, but has plenty of stretch to him so can't complain too much I guess. I'll echo what the others said though, you'd love a bit more rump on him.

Calving ease bull? I'm not so sure

care to expand on that? I mean I think most people would agree that all those things have a significant impact on calving ease. What would you recommend for heifers then?

Calving ease bull? I'm not so sure

Could be Holstein tbh, all i know is they were crossed over angus for the last few generations from dairy cows.

Calving ease bull? I'm not so sure

Hopefully that's all it is, my girls are handling it like champs but if it's the same situation with the straight angus heifers I'm in trouble

Calving ease bull? I'm not so sure

We recently bought a new bull, and the birthweights I'm seeing out of our older girls has me a bit nervous for the heifers we have coming up later in the year. The girls are 4yo 3/4 Angus x fresian. The bull is pure Angus. Supposedly top 30% for birthweight (as in low), top 35% calving ease...
