SALE REPORT
FOUNDATION LIMOUSIN SALE HELD IN BOWLING GREEN

The Foundation Sale held on October 3, 2015 at the United Producers Sale Facility in Bowling Green, Ky., drew a great crowd of people to the inaugural sale hosted by the ACH Holdings; Stephen, Emily and Carter Haynes.

Guest consigners on the sale were Posthaven Limouin, Alma, Ontario; Jarnagin Limousin, Mascot, TN; Grandview Farms, Mt. Sterling, Ky.; Crockett Rose Branch Farm, Lamar, Mo.; Broken Slash L Ranch, Oologah, Okla.; Britt Limousin Ranch, Seminole, Okla.; Williamson Limousin, Seminole, Okla.; Diamond R Cattle Co., LLC, Coweta, Okla.; J&S Cattle Co.,Smiths Grove, Ky., and Kentucky River Limousin, Lancaster, Ky.

A Friday night social, a beef brisket meal, for the consignors and buyers was held at the Haynes family residence and featured great entertainment from Rodney Watts. He wowed the crowd with his renditions of old time country and rock & roll. A presale barbecue lunch was held at the sale barn.     

The top-selling female was ENGD Wild Storm 911W, a 2/13/09 red, homozygous polled daughter of EAFF Polled Pugilist 633R consigned by ACH Holdings. One-half embryo interest was purchased for $25,500 by the “Cattle Cartel,” a group of breeders who have agreed to sponsor and mentor young breeders in their pursuit to show and establish their own Fullblood herd, starting with Wild Storm.

The young breeders who have made a commitment to protect the interest of the Fullblood breed Limousin genetics are A. Carter Haynes, Sarah Delight; Ashleigh, Lesleigh, and Kaeleigh Christensen, Kaitlynn Withers, and Tyler Ray.

The Cattle Cartel is sponsored by these esteemed breeders: Connie and Danny Crockett, Crockett Rose Branch Farm; Rhonda and Kraig Withers, Diamond R Cattle Co, LLC; Margie Mosher, Lenape Limousin in memory of Harris Mosher; Ed and Carol Pinegar, Pinegar Limousin; Jonathan and Laura Ray; Kentucky River Limousin; and Stephen and Emily Haynes, Haynes Family Farm. The mentors are Deloris Grimstad, Black Tie Limousin; Jim and Bertha Jarnagin, Jarnagin Limousin; Terrill and Barb Britt, Britt Limousin Ranch, John and Ena Post, Posthaven Limousin and Herman and Judy Symens, Symens Hills Ranch and LimiGene.

The second high-selling female was JL Tennessee Pearl 243A, a 10/10/13 red, double polled daughter of SVL Polled Heritage 124P consigned by Jarnagin Limousin. Rod Carver, Carver Farms of Noble, Okla., along with Kraig and Rhonda Withers, Diamond R Cattle Co., Coweta, Okla., purchased this female for $7,600

Stone Valley Limousin, Cashion, Okla., and Rockin' R Ranch, Rolla, Mo., teamed up to purchase Posthaven Polled Xodus, a 1/26/10 red, double polled daughter of Posthaven Polled Sell-Out for $5,200. She was consigned by Posthaven Limousin.

The top-selling bull was ACHH Golden Boy 03B, a 9/19/14 red, homozygous polled son of Posthaven Polled Urban Cowboy consigned by ACH Holdings, Inc. He was purchased by Danny and Connie Crockett, Crockett Rose Branch Farm of Lamar, Mo., for $8,200.

Two bulls consigned by Posthaven Limousin brought $5,000 on the auction. Posthaven P Balderdash, a 4/17/14 red, polled son of Engkjaer Get It was purchased by Dustin and Julie Sneed, Girard, Kansas.

Chester and Charolotte Grooms, West Union, Ohio, purchased the other $5,000 bull. Posthaven P Carlton, is a 2/5/15 red homozygous polled son of Posthaven Polled Sell-Out.

The top-selling pair was consigned by Posthaven Limousin. Conrad Miller, Butler, Ohio, purchased the cow, Cedar Patch PP Lenora, a 4/20/10 red, double polled daughter of Cedar Patch POL Lincoln for $3,800. Thompson and Sons,Wayne, WV had the final bid of $2,500 on her 2/12/15 red, horned calf, Posthaven Courtney sired by Engkjaaer Get It.

The top-selling family was ENGD Wonderlust 930W, a 3/1/09 homozygous black, homozygous polled daughter of Wulf's Sirloin 3172S consigned by ACH Holdings, LLC. Dustin and Julie Sneed purchased the cow for $3,500 and her 4/27/15 black, homozygous polled calf, ACHH Polled Wonder 69C sired by Posthaven P Zambuka for $2,500. 4K Limousin of Texas purchased the two sets of embryos for $1,500 and $1,250.
