SALE REPORT
TJB GELBVIEH BULL SALE AVERAGES $4,375 ON 32 LOTS

November 1, 2014
Chickamauga, Ga.

TJB Gelbvieh extended their traditional warm southern hospitality on an unusually cold and windy November day in Chickamauga, Ga. A few snow flurries even fell! Todd, Alisa, Kelsie, Katelyn, and Mitch welcomed a large and enthusiastic crowd that contended for thirty two yearling bulls which averaged $4,375.

Topping the sale was Lot 1, TJB Vickram 342A-ET. The homozygous black/homozygous polled BA75 herd sire sold to Taubenheim Gelbvieh for $15,000 for full possession and half semen interest. Vickram is an Xterminator son out of TJB lead donor 912U. Lot 2 was 340A, a cherry red homozygous polled flush mate to Lot 1 demanding $9,000 from repeat buyer Severtson Land & Cattle from Alberta, Canada. Lot 11 was TJB 320A, a homozygous polled, red Gunslinger son out of a young Masterpiece donor, 103X selling to Register Farms in NC for $8,300. Lot 23 sold to Kendall Traxler from Mississippi for $8,300 also. 325A is a homo black/homo polled BA75 out of TJB Enchantress 745S. Kendall also took home Lot 19, a 408P son for $4,600 to add to his progressive commercial program.

Rounding out the high selling lots was Lot 3. 374A is one of the last sons ever to be offered out of Velvet 226M. Velvet has anchored the TJB program for several years. She is gone now but her influence will live on for years through her many daughters (including 912U-Dam of Lots 1 & 2) as well as a select few bulls being utilized in TJB breeding program. 374A sold to Riverside Farms, Kyle Lane for $8,250. JGP Gelbvieh also added a herd sire for $4,750. He is also a son of the outstanding Masterpiece donor 103X sired by Xterminator. Finally, longtime friend and Gelbvieh breeder, Dr. Gary Silvey from Clarkesville, Tenn., added Lot 23 for $5,300 as his new herd sire. He is from the Anissa family being a Silver son out of 921U.

Volume buyer was Johnson Cattle Company from Happy, Texas. Jay added four very impressive red bulls. We look forward to next year's sale at the farm on Saturday, November 7, 2015. We invite you to visit our web site at www.tjbgelbvieh.com for information about our program.
