A full house was on hand for “The New Beginning Charolais Female Sale” held on Thursday November 13th. The sale represented the dispersal of the females from the mighty Camp Cooley Ranch Charolais cow herd. Many new Charolais breeders took advantage of the opportunity for their own “New Beginning” in the Charolais breed. Daughters of the great breed matrons were offered and customers were provided with the opportunity to build their own programs based on the freshest, cutting-edge genetics available in the breed.
The sale also marked the launch of Camp Cooley Genetics, a premier seedstock provider and a unique service company focusing on assisting its partners with breeding, managing, and marketing their cattle. Camp Cooley Genetics will combine the expertise of Camp Cooley Ranch, Ultimate Genetics, and Camp Cooley Beef into one customer-service driven entity.
Ms Cooley Leader 9047S3 and her LT Easy Pro heifer calf lead the way in the sale as Joe Phillips of Bullard, Texas paid $20,500 to own the pair. She is sired by Eatons Leader and out of Hoo Doo breeding on the bottom side of her pedigree and represents as much rib and thickness as the breed has to offer.
Joe Phillips continued his quest for the elite cows as he captured the next high selling lot, Ms Cooley Jackpot 6017S and her Cooley Jordan bull calf at side for $5,500. She was sired by Cooley Jackpot and out of a Hoo Doo bred cow.
J.T. Crawford of Huntsville, Texas, paid $4,500 to own Ms Cooley Suspect 1107S70 and her Baldridge Cadillac heifer calf. This Suspect daughter displayed a near perfect udder and combined Suspect breeding with Duke 17J.
Joe Phillips also bought Ms Cooley Sir Duke 9731S6 and her Jordan heifer calf for $4,500. She is a daughter of 17J out of Eaton breeding on the bottom side of her pedigree.
