The Shepherd Red Angus herd was transported from Waynesboro, Georgia to Cullman, Ala. due to extreme drought conditions in the southeast and sold at auction November 3, 2007 at the Cullman Stockyards. A nice crowd was on hand as well as a very active bidding contingency on dvauction via the internet.

The top selling cow was Lot # 136, a RF Cassidy 8198 X Centerline Sensation JRS A.I. bred to HXC Conquest 4405P. At $3,100, she sold to R2 Ranch, Austin, Texas. Lot 36 was the second high seller at $2,600 going to Gerald Stoka, Cooperstown, N.D.. She was a Beckton Lancer J395 TZ X 77 MCD Red Mac 100 two year old bred to ODC Super Teton R40. Gerald Stoka also selected the next two high selling cows at $2,500 each. They were Lot # 48, a Beckton Lancer J395 TX X RF Oscar 0366 7801528 daughter bred to ODC Some Major R43 and Lot # 86, a RF Prospect 9005 X GMRA Ram Bull 467 bred to Beckton Lancer F442 T.

John Cairns of Ardmore, Tenn. selected Lot 73 for $2,100. She was a daughter of RF Utopia 2006 and from a Kinchen JR 451 dam and A.I. bred to OCC Kissimmee 754K. Lot # 144 and # 146 rounded out the top seven selling cows at $2,000 each. Lot 144 sold to Gerald Stoka, Cooperstown, N.D. and was a RF Cassidy 8198 X Forster Centurion 4108 bred to ODC Some Major R43. Lot 146 went to Cody McDaniel, Edson, Kansas and was a PIE Mr Pr 831 X RF Oscar 0366 898 1668 daughter A.I. bred to OCC Kissimmee 754K.

The high selling open heifer at $900 was Lot # 6A and went to R2 Ranch, Austin, Texas. She was an April RF Stampede 4241 X RF Samson 9015 daughter. Lot 116A sold for $850 to Cody McDaniel, Edson, Kansas and was a March OH Colorado Chunky 210 X Sodak Oscar 7347 97 daughter. R2 Ranch bought the next two heifers at $750 each they were Lot # 109A and 110A.

The volume buyer was Gerald Stoka, Cooperstown, N.D. with his purchase of 28 head. Cattle sold into 12 states including: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. The auction was managed by Amy and Kyle Gilchrist of Douds, Iowa.
