The fourth edition of the Bluegrass Invitational proved a popular source of quality Gelbvieh genetics. This bi-annual event drew a large gathering at Mt. Sterling with many first-time buyers. Topping the sale at $15,500 was Lot 14/14A, HAD Sugar. This powerful donor was consigned by Split Diamond Cattle Company, NC. This proven donor is considered one of the elite females of the breed by many. Circle K Gelbvieh, Franklin, Ky., is the new owner of this outstanding Jaguar daughter and her heifer calf. Lot 16/16A combined for a total of $3,800. Lot 16, a homozygous black Stonewall daughter, sold to Leo Phillips of Lexington, Ky. Lot 16A, a Beretta heifer calf, went to Elmore Farms of Claremont, NC. Lot 15/15A was the next high selling at $3,750 going to Larry Clark of Greensburg, Ky. This Stonewall daughter sold bred to Junior with an Extra Exposure bull calf at side.

Lot 29: $2,650 – Stonewall heifer bred to JBOB Carolina Hero. Buyer: Register Farms, N.C.

Lot 8/8A: $2,600 – Polled Summit female with a CTR Highlight sired ET heifer calf at side. Buyer: Ronald Reynolds, Ky.

Lot 24/24A: $2,600 – Beretta female with an Extra Exposure bull calf at side. Buyer: Ron Rudd, Ohio.

Lot 23/23A: $2,600 – Celebrity female with a Polled Resource heifer calf at side: Buyer: Ron Rudd, Ohio.

Lot 22/22A: $2,500 – Sir Roych female with a Celebrity heifer calf at side: Buyer: Jeremy Lee, N.C.

Lot 31: $2,500 – Freedom's Reflection heifer bred to Drew. Buyer: Leo Phillips, Ky.

Volume Buyer: 10 lots purchased by Thad Padon of Salem, Ky.
