Therapy

Post by pdfangus » Wed Jul 01, 2020 2:12 pm

well....I finally did it....
I quit making excuses...
I quit finding other things that were supposedly more important...
I quit lying to myself....
I accepted that I am not doing all right....
I admitted that I needed help....
I scheduled yet another appointment with my therapist.....
Only this time I actually went....
It did me a world of good.
My therapist can always work magic on me.
She brings me out of my deep dark places.
She makes me see the beauty in the world.
She makes me recognize the value of being alive.
And she only costs me a few thousand dollars per year but it is money well spent.
It does not seem like it could have been that long but this was my first appointment this calendar year that I have kept.
We have another appointment this week.
maybe we will try Trevillians since it has been reopened...Have not had therapy there in years...and never with the current therapist.
We only did 4.75 miles yesterday but it brought me half way back to sanity....half is about as close as I get anymore...
But my Therapist is good...She never missed a beat...no one would ever have know that it had been six or seven months since we had a session...easy, calm, responsive, willing, alert and enjoyable...she even remembered the step obstacle on the pump track and stepped right up on top of it...she even waited patiently while I had an omelette at waffle house.
All my big problems are a little smaller now than they were.

You should do that more often.

Sometimes you do have to throw out the babies with the bath water.
