Calf is about a month old started black now turning "stripey" picture attached.
Angus parents
Just curious why the color change

Our calves typically get light brown colored a month or so after birth and darken up again as they age.

Looking at the cow and seeing the light colored muzzle and very fine bone I'd guess she maybe was 1/2-1/4 Jersey?

Fine boned comes from the bull also

These calves are out of red cows.

I bought a heifer yesterday out of a black Angus and a Bradford cow that is a red tiger stripe. I bought her from my neighbor down the road there aren't any cows within a mile of his place. The bull has to be a red carrier for the heifer to be red.
I will post a picture when I get her tomorrow or the next day.

Like holm25, that 'mealy mouth' and the speckled pattern of white on the udder suggests that there's something else, like Jersey, behind that cow.
That said, my bet is that calf will end up black... looks not unlike a lot of calves here with two black parents.

And yes, there are registered Angus that do carry the 'wild-color' gene, but that cow is almost certainly not purebred Angus.
